Lot of whining here from folks. You think $40 is too much for a fan club membership which gives you so much? Are you ****ing kidding me? Consider yourselves lucky you've gotten all that you have for $20 per year this far.
I'd pay $100 per year for all 10c does for us. If you don't like the new system, drop your membership. Typical Americans with their spoiled sense of entitlement: gimme, gimme, gimme.
Are you a screenwriter?
www.screenplaymechanic.com
How about we split the difference - $30 or so, and you keep shipping my fan club vinyl and forget the other stuff (bootleg download, T-shirt). Who needs a new T-shirt every year?
Also, do we get the 2010 Holiday Single with the "old" memberships, even if it comes Jun 2011?
i'm sure there was the intent to do something, it just got derailed for some reason.
That seems to happen alot in 10C land.
But at least Tim's getting a big, fat pay raise. It's more than most of us are getting.
i'd say twice (the downloads and big bold free). and the comment about Tim is a bit of BS if you ask me. this is coming from someone not super happy with the new membership thing btw...
I am analog all the way! I would be heart broken if I stopped receiving the 45 Christmas singles. Plus a new PJ shirt every year - I am in for the analog tier.
I don't have to pay this until March or April, I think, when my current membership expires.
Speaking of downloads, will the 10c bought backspacer albums ever recieve their show?
if it hasnt been done yet, i'd have someone ask that question during the next call in show on sirius next week.
it's going to be an interesting show this week i hope i can get thru because i'm not calling in to praise and say how many shows i've been to, i'm calling in to voice the opinion of a majority that this is bullshit
essentially paying $20 ($30 for international) more for what we're getting already..
this is ten pounds of monkey crap in a five pound bag
it's essentially paying $20 more for a t-shirt.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.
i'd say twice (the downloads and big bold free). and the comment about Tim is a bit of BS if you ask me. this is coming from someone not super happy with the new membership thing btw...

good luck getting through. i'd be interested to hear some of this addressed, not from an attacking point of view, but just from the perspective of getting some of this stuff cleared up. so the downloads with backspacer, what REALLY happened with big bold free, this membership thing, etc., are all good questions as far as i'm concerned
I am already renewed until 2015. I want analog/full membership. What do I need to do?
Me too, I think a lot of people are paid a few years out, is there and upgrade option for us I guess?
Those that are paid beyond 2011 will continue to enjoy the same benefits they enjoyed prior to today's announcement - today's announcement doesn't alter prior paid memberships.
To quote the 10C from Newsletter #8: "Please understand we have a lot of members and it is very hard to please everybody. If you are one of those unhappy people...please call 1-900-IDN-TCAR."

Good thing I just renewed my membership a couple days ago.

Exactly. If the difference of $20 means one night of drinking beer at home, instead of a bar, so be it. At least you can spin Pearl Jam Radio at home, instead of the Top 40 pop crap they play at the bar.

I'm surprised that it has taken this long, I have no problem with the extra $$$, I still think that we are getting a great deal.
for what?
ticket benefits? I've been a member for over 10 years, and 2010 was the first time I've ever gotten 10C tickets.
Ya, and??? So have I. Ten Club membership is a whole lot cheaper than most of the other bands ( not that I have any other memberships ) So seriously, what's with all the bitching????
essentially paying $20 ($30 for international) more for what we're getting already..
this is ten pounds of monkey crap in a five pound bag
Well put.
But don't you know the rules? Rubysdad (Tim) says you can't criticize something if you haven't been in a band for 20 years and toured the world. That's what he posted when people gave valid complaints about the radio show on Sirius, like requesting that the show actually have some flow and not dead air. I do not think he will take kindly to these complaints, valid though they may be. I know you are wondering what band he was in for 20 years and toured the world with. I am too.
Ed made it clear in an interview last year that with the piracy of music, they need to find new ways to generate revenue.
I have no problem paying the band, but I wish they would give us more of what we want. If they took the time that they put into designing socks and beach blankets and instead put it into mastering and releasing old shows, I wouldn't even question a price increase. But as long as people keep paying for anything with a PJ name on it, they'll keep going in that direction.
Ed said it 15 years ago..."you're a consumer; you vote everyday."
So basically, our membership fee just doubled.... It better be one bad A shirt....
(Edit: Yes, I'm whining. However, since I will be a sucker and pay the extra $20 for the shirt and hard copy of Deep, I have the right to whine on here a little about it. I try to not say too much one way or another about most things on here, so let me have my moment of bitching. However, maybe my number will be a lot better now)
