So..is there a confirmation that XM Canada has Pearl Jam radio???

Wife has the car..can't check! And its driving me batty! ;-)

I don't see why you guys wouldn't have gotten it as well. It's not on the XM.ca website but surely you guys got it too.

Yup! I was worried that XM Canada would not get this channel because there are a few USA exclusive channels but I live in Ontario, Canada and I tuned in at 6pm sharp and heard it as it launced! Still not on the online feed or website yet but its playing in my car and is now my #1 preset!

I waited on hold yesterday for about 30 minutes to find out we get it!

Speaking of which, they're playing the Las Vegas 2000 show now. I could have SWORN Ed talked to the crowd after MFC... did SiriusXM cut that out?

yeah, i'm playing the Cd boot of that show now and he does go on for several minutes about the early history of the band - and mentions that they've played even flow all of twice...
  • That's kind of weird they would edit Ed talking to the crowd out. I know on the springsteen channel when they play a show on there they always have Bruce talking to the crowd. Hopefully it will be the same on the new Pearl Jam channel.

Unable to find it online in Canada.
However stumbled upon last years Xmas single on "Spectrum" which was surprising/cool.
Currently enjoying my free trial to the US site, that'll tide me over for this week.....

I heard Santa Cruz at least once on the Spectrum.

You don't want to listen to Jam_ON..........that's not the PJ Radio channel ;)

Even though the Sirius radios still say Jam_ON.

Meanwhile, the Sirius radios also say Cinemagic, but are playing Jam_ON??

Bottom line -- XM's technology can update channel information "on the fly." Sirius needs to send out an update, which has been known to "break" some radios built-in to cars. Because of this, they haven't sent out a channel update in a long, long time.

That's one of the reasons I was against the merge of XM and Sirius. Sirius had a reputation in the early days of satellite radio for things just like this. Also since Sirius took over they replaced the old current rock station with Alt Nation which plays a lot of crap. Glad they added Pearl Jam radio gives me something else to listen to besides Lithium.

Later next year, SiriusXM is coming out with "Satellite Radio 2.0" which is supposed to totally re-do the whole concept of satellite radio.

All current radios will still work, and they're even phasing out a lot of the Sirius radios.

It is RUMORED, RUMORED, RUMORED that "Satellite Radio 2.0" will use the XM technology.

You satellite radio junkies may want to check out www.digitalradiocentral.com which is a great site to discuss things like Pandora, Slacker, other internet radio, and SiriusXM, among other things. There's a ton of good info and discussion there with a lot of knowledgeable people.

    They just played that again...
Please tell me this is not on a 12 hour loop... There is so much material that would suck.

Just to avoid confusion - PJ radio is currently streaming online on '813' - still labelled 'Music Showcase' - under 'Rock' (for me at least)

Thanks for the heads-up. I have been digging this afternoon's (morning's?) selection - very mellow vibe since Ledbetter.

Pearl Jam radio on XM/Sirius is great. Rides in the car have drastically improved. Fantastic idea. Is it the same playlist as you would find running concurrently on the band's website ?

Don't know if it was mentioned before, but if you are a Dish Network subscriber there's a good chance you can get PJ radio through that as well, without having to subscribe to Sirius separately, and it sounds pretty good coming through my surround sound. It's channel 6017 on mine.

No such thing. The iphone app is not like the online service.

  • Has anyone heard more info about how long they are doing this channel? I was listening to XMU (Channel 43) this afternoon and the DJ was promoting Pearl Jam Radio but mentioned how it was for a "very limited time" to coincide with the anniversary. I'm just wondering if he has any idea what he's talking about...

I hope it's not one of the limited engagement channels. They have had ones for Led Zeppelin, Metallica and other bands as well but they have been advertised as limited engagement ones. Nothing on XM's website says that it is limited. I hope it's not. They have a E street radio, Greatful Dead, and Jimmy Buffett channel and those are all on going ones. Hope the Pearl Jam one is as well.

I have XM in my Honda Accord (built in). Does anyone know how to get the full song name to scroll so I can see what venue it was played at? Right now I just get the song name and dates but I would love to know the venue.
