I'm with you on the 1st two albums, cannot and won't play them anymore after giving them so many chances. They just do nothing for me anymore however Avocado most definately does. I guess its all about opinions and taste at a given time though.
"First of all, there’s the palpable camaraderie and good feeling you get from the entire band as they smile and nod at each other, and huddle together in various formations throughout the show --- They look like they really like each other. They look stoked!"

The song may be good, but I think their performance of it is bad. Eddie singing comes off whiny and tiring. I have nothing but love for his voice, but here it just annoys me and that ruins the song. I also don't like what they did with it in the studio! The song was fine the way it was before the rest of the band started dressing it up.

Im not a hater. Im just sharing my opinion on the song, which happens to be a negative one.

    iiiiiiiiiihiihiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiihiiiiiiiiii'm gone. No thanks.

What are you talking about...granted it's not their best. You wanna tell me Whale Song and Sweet Lew are better than Gone?

Personally I liked it more how Eddie played it solo in AC. Not their best song. But not their worst either. Just eh.

I love Sweet Lew and especially Whale Song!

  • To me it sounds like a Generic Pearl Jam song...Like a bunch of guys decided to write a song in the Pearl Jam way.

The theme (getting away) has been used too many times by Vedder already and in better ways (MFC, RVM, Last Exit, Thumbing My Way)

I actually like the verses, going into 'the lights of the city' bit but when the drums come in, it just sounds awkward.

I know many non fanatic PJ fans who really like this song, however I think for us hardcore, we've heard it all before...
  • So this last tour was pretty much all complete and utter bollocks to you right? :D

  • By far one of the most boring songs by PJ. Just plain boring. Shouldn't have been on the album. It screams B-side to me.
