In the past, I'm thinking Mansfield I-III 2003, only the first show was fan club. I think this fact makes it even more important to give out higher rows randomly- they're all fan club seats, so you don't have the chance of getting way up front through TM, and agency, or a scalper. I was in like row 7 for mansfield III 2003 only because we decided to go through an agency and pay. But for ALL the shows on this tour ALL the good seats are in the hands of the ten club. So if they DIDN'T randomize it, it could literally be almost all the same people every single night with good seats. Hell, IMO, even though I LOVE the ticket perk, I don't think it's quite fair to relegate the general public to shit seating for EVERY show. I have friends who are HUGE fans from way back, but for one reason or another, never joined the 10c. they're always on the lawn and stuff. Some people might love pearl jam but aren't so fanatical as to be in the ten club...I think we should be grateful that we get all these shows as fan club shows in the first place because all in all it's not entirely fair to begin with.
again, all very true.....we are ALL fortunate. i have never felt otherwise either. i have been very, very fortunate over the past few tours and i am thankful for it.
as i've said, it does seem that MOST fans, who post on this board anyway...regardless of 10c #...see this all as a GOOD thing. it'll be fun to see the *energy* for sure, no matter where you are!Stay with me...

Just like me and the other long time members have been touring around the world supporting the guys.
Totally different. Season tickets guarantee you your seats. Nowhere does the 10C guarantee tickets to shows. Over the years they have changed up ticket allocations (mail order, 1 pair per tour, then mail orders for multiple shows, then online). This is the next step and they can do what they want. Maybe they are sick of the same faces. Maybe they are listening to fans complain about never getting the chance to get up front. Maybe they felt this was a great way to keep the fans all charged up in the first few rows. Let's face it: fans get jaded. I've talked with people who get front row for 10-15 shows in a row, and more than a few have said they would be fine if they were back a few rows but that since they get front row tickets what are they going to do, hand them back?
I'm sorry, but I think people who are complaining about possibly moving back a few rows are being selfish. Name another band that essentially gets you the best seats in the house and you know you will get better seats than the general public every single time? C'mon...we're so damn lucky. Pearl Jam absolutely rules and we need to remember that it is all about the music and the experience, not how many low seat # tickets you can amass.Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"

you need to go back to PT, you are making to much sense. Let PT dumb you down a little then come back.

The people who would have gotten 9 or 10 could have been 13 or 14 anyway, depending on the number of 10C tickets sold, venue, etc. The amount of joy that they will be giving to the people who randomly get 1, 2, 9 and 10 will vastly outweighs the amount of inconvenience for those who would otherwise have been in those rows. You're just moving back a couple rows.

And if those same fans stop going to shows because they are in the 3rd row instead of the first, then they arent real fans.

Believe me, as an 18 year old, I think us young fans are far more disadvantaged even with this great opportunity than you old fans who get to sit 9th or 10th row generally, and this time may have to sit 12th and 13th. That's my opinion. I can see that it would feel frustrating though... being downgraded in any scenario is no fun.

I wasn't stating that at all. I was just stating that Ed - at least that night - wasn't tired of seeing the same faces every night.
And trust me, I'll be nowhere near the 1st or 2nd row unless I hit the lottery. I travel around with my 18th-20th row seats and am just as happy.- Busted down the pretext

Ed was not complaining, he was thanking the diehards.
I'm entitled to my opinion. I know you all feel strongly about yours. Sorry if I feel entitled, or if I got used to a certain row or seat. It just turns great seats into middle of the pack. I'm still going to enjoy it, but with all the bitching I've read here over the years in favor of doing away with seniority, I felt that this change required me to speak up.
I just know that I love this band and for someone to push me back to the middle of the floor in the name of fairness, seems like a bad idea. I also feel like this will encourage scalpers to get back in the fan club.
Alot of the people in agreement with the new policy are calling those who aren't babies or selfish. Is selfishness always bad? Aren't you being selfish by agreeing with the new policy. Oh, right, you guys are strictly for the people.
The fact is we've come to expect what we were given and told we earned before. If that's not the case, we have right to disagree. Sorry.

Please allow me to interject... for people in rows 10-14 it's not 2 rows it's four and in indoor venues that very well may mean the next section.
NOT COMPLAINING as I won't even be in MY seats. I have friends in low places.

These people are the only ones who lose in the new ticketing system, so can you blame them for not liking it? Calling them selfish is unfair.
Agree with everything you said, however, these people are acting like they were in the 10c for years and are now being pushed to nosebleed section.
Really, its just a few rows. Nothing groundbreaking. Nobody is moving the guy in row 2 to the 45th row of the floor, or the 1st row in the upper balcony.. he is being moved to row 4. not too shabby.
