About the oil also...in about 9 -12 months, it will begin to affect what you pay in a lot of places including what you pay for your seafood wants. Right now, the shrimp you are getting was caught about a year ago and has been held since then at a lower temperature than what you are able to get at home. In about a year, any shrimp harvested from the region now will be on your table at a much higher price...and who knows how tainted. Same goes for other seafood from the region. I feel bad for people whose livelihoods depend on the sea in this area.

to answer the OP's question... maybe some people are just sick of hearing about it. i know i am. it sucks, it's a problem, but talking about it's not helping. it's tedious to me to continually hear about it. it's just bitching in order to bitch. it accomplishes nothing.

Can you imagine being an advanced species, would you come anywhere near this planet? Those that say they were abducted were taken because the aliens were trying to fix us, no luck yet.

I disagree. If it educates people about the environment or how their gas is produced, it accomplishes something. If it inspires people to think of the greater world outside their own needs/desires, it accomplishes something. If it causes people to become more dedicated to reducing their oil consumption, it accomplishes something. If it makes people angry enough to finally participate in the political process & demand that huge corporations shouldn't get away with all the shit they get away with, it accomplishes something. Even if it just provokes empathy in the hearts of the viewers, it accomplishes something.

Funny to hear other oil companies try to redeem themselves saying they would never have done a deep water well quite like BP did. And wouldn't it be nice if Obama enforced safety regulations on rigs drilling in the US to begin with. That would be the OBVIOUS first step!!
