Does conservative mean taking every opportunity to generalize an entire group of people and label them barbaric terrorists?

Sorry, i shouldn't ruin the groove here on the love fest of apologies and sincerity, if it takes a whole thread of back-pedaling to make up for the ignorant dribble that's gone on then so be it i guess.
OP must have just had a really bad day.

    Mr Smith:

3- The Patriot Act, I believe, is necessary and vital to Nat'l Security- and so did the Democrats- that's why they extended it. It really only allows for eaves dropping on calls/emails into or out of the US- and the law got a bad rap. Most of you will probably disagree w/ me on this, but its just our opinions.

    you forget it says:
It really only allows for eaves dropping on calls/emails into or out of the US

but the fine print says 'and we will do this by monitoring ALL your communications and thanks to companies like att&t we will have full access whenever we want'

how is it vital and necessary?
    don't compete; coexist

what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?

If you were in another country and were planning an attack, would it be more difficult if you knew that country had resources tracking communication? Or would it be easier if you knew groups like the ACLU were defending your rights? I don't know if the Patriot Act has stopped anybody or thrown an innocent person in the slammer, but I think I can say with good certainty that just the threat of the act has impacted the communication of sleeper cells.

The dreaded, evil, fanatical Hezbollah!!

How dare they have the audacity to stand up against U.S and Israeli aggression! They must be terrorist evil-doers, right?

So, if you think Hezbollah is so grand....why were you offended when someone compared you to them? Or are you defending their honor because they are honarable and dont deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Byrnzie? ;)

    You need to laugh more.

I wondered when you'd chime in with your two-cents worth.

To answer your question, I wasn't offended. I found it amusing.

I think I am the only conservative PJ fan in the world.

I think there are far more conservatives on this website than anything else. And you should take into account that being centre-right, or even liberal, in America would still make you a conservative in practically every other country on Earth.

I'm very conservative or right leaning fiscally.

With regard to government, I'm more libertarian.

On the other hand, socially I hold some beliefs that are fairly far to the left.

I know it's human nature to try and lump people into large groups, but those kinds of generalizations really do not accomplish much. Everyone is a unique individual.
The only people we should try to get even with...
    ...are those who've helped us.

Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.

Yup, thanks for noticing. I even put in the ;) to show my sarcasm, it was a lighthearted comment. You don't have to be serious all the time.

I'm not. Though maybe I am in your eyes, but that's o.k, because I don't really give a hoot.

Probably about as long as you've been working on being a troll who has no original thoughts but just predictably jumps in on the backs of other peoples threads with smarmy, personal attacks. Must make you feel pretty good about yourself?

I'm just curious how you consider saying you don't "give a hoot" to be a tough guy persona. That's a phrase my grandma uses.

Actually it was probably not the right wording...and he missed my point anyhow, which I should expect.
