not really. the 8th inning isn't anybody's yet.

Well, I would imagine its Jobas to lose, they cant really dick him around anymore.

I think it they didn't put him up there because yuke was up. Joba would have probably thrown at him and caused a bench clearing brawl

Nice win! Not pretty but we got the job done.

All along i've held that Joba should be a starter. he has too many good pitches to be stuck in the bullpen.

Maybe i'm wrong, or maybe i'll change my mind if phil hughes comes out and stinks it up next week :D

talk about a pitcher's psyche. that is the type of joba you will see if you keep him in the pen. i am just not convinced he can be as dominating as a starter as he is in relief.

hope hughes comes into his own. but with the yanks #1-4... you can almost afford to have a shaky #5 at times.

and kay is getting harder and harder to listen to. did he really have to talk about gardner's benching for 3 straight innings?

edit: shouldn't say as dominating as a starter. more like valuable.

    welcome to the yankees.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

I love watching papelbon struggle. Even if he wasn't a red sox i would not care for him much. He seems pretty cocky which I'm sure some would argue you want out of a closer, but Mo is pretty sure of his capabilties but he just seems to have a different air about him.

What a gutsy performance by Andy Pettitte. He is a great pitcher.

I think during they game they mentioned how jorge, jeter, and mo have been teamates for 16 years and there is no other franchise in north american sports that has 3 players who have been teamates that long. Pretty special in this day and age.

I kind of wish Andy never played for houston and he just stayed with the yankees so it coudl have been 4.

  • A little sloppy, especially Tex (and 1 thru 4 in the lineup) BUT Ill certainly take it to open the season. Should've been a sweep actually.

Did Sterling say his "something sort of grandish" tag again after the homer last night??

Yankees take 2 out of 3 from Boston with Beckett, Lester and Lackey on the mound and almost no production from Tex or Arod.

granderson with the 2 big blows. but already looks like he is going to be a frustrating guy to watch when he faces lefties. see if long can correct that.

Yeah, he looked lost in a couple of the ab's against lefties, hopefully they can work it out but I think we will be happy with him overall no matter what.

Forbes values the Yankees at $1.6 billion. Holy fuck. Boston in second at $870 mil.

me too. is it me or does tex look like he's not in the best shape, maybe put on a little weight? i mean the dude is a beast but looks a little sluggish at the plate but even more surprising was that he looked a little sluggish in the field too. that being said a sluggish tex at 1b is better than 80% of any other 1b.
