Sorry, I hate to bring facts into this debate, but actually the USA is the 8th lowest tax rate worldwide by GDP. Is there a reason you can't say the word "Greedy"?

yes it's wikipedia so it could be wrong, do your own research that tells me it's wrong.0 -

so i guess your greedy if you make a profit from your business ?
Obviously none of you have ever owned your own business.
You anti captialism people are such a joke. your against capitalism yet you support it by when you buy goods or services.0 -
You try and vilify one side while ignoring what your own does or has done. The honest truth is that Both the Dems and Reps have basically destroyed our system by allowing big business, lobbying and greed rule the roost. Both sides are responsible and have enabled it. If you can't accept this honest truth, there's really no point in discussing any of these other side topics further because all you're doing is pointing blame at the other half, which isn't factual and nothing but bias. And the same goes for anyone saying similar from the other side.prfctlefts wrote:so i guess your greedy if you make a profit from your business ?

The last poster used a simplistic, emotional response to a complicated question.
Bill Clinton got rid of the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933 which created a firewall between banks, investment houses etc. (IE: derivatives infected our banking system) So, Republicans are not always the ones to endorse "free market" policies that are so costly to average Americans.
It's the wealthy who are getting richer during these trying financial times. The most wealthy 400 families in America had almost a 20 billion dollar gain in income over last year. Their wealth doubled under George W. Bush.FiveB247x wrote:You try and vilify one side while ignoring what your own does or has done. So the benefits got extended by 30 days. Then what? At some point, won't we have to stop the extensions? The only people we should try to get even with...

gimmesometruth27 wrote:a vast majority of these people laid off and unemployed are factory workers and those in manufacturing. those jobs are not coming back, and these people may not be qualified for anything else. this is the middle class we are talking about. many of them got their jobs 20 years ago when a college degree or high school diploma was not necessary and they could still make a decent living with a decent wage. the job market is tight, nobody is hiring anyone. in many fields you can not get a job without experience in that field, but how can you get experience if nobody will hire you? our system is fucked right now. many of these people are going to have to go back to school to get new skills, and how will they pay for their homes or support their families without unemployment benefits?
quick question, if it was so easy to find steady employment don't you think that most of these people with bills to pay and mortgages to make would take whatever they can find even if it is not their ideal job?
jim bunning is a dick. scoring political points with the teabaggers while playing with people's lives is downright cruel and dispicable...
Please tell me where in the hell you can find a decent paying job in this country with out a colllege education. You cant.. We live in a fast changing world. You have to keep up with Technology or you will be left behind Why the fuck would you stay in the same place if you can't find a job where your at. If someone wants to do something bad enough they will figure out a eay and make it happen. Thes people have been getting unemployment benefits for almost 2 years. You mean to tell me you can't find a job in 99 weeks. Im all for helping people out ,but cmon man give me a break. Sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone to make things better
If this senator had worked for Enron or any of the other corparations that were screwing the american people and he spoke out the way he is now he would be appluaded. But because he turns his attentionto the GOVENMENT because he is a senator and demands that the same rules apply or similar rules apply and demands that the rules they claim they are going to aplly actually be applied he's considered a dick ?0 -

the answer is you can't. ever think that the entire system is fucked? people stay in the same place because the housing market is bad. so if you are unemployed are you supposed to sell your house at a loss and move? how will that help anything. the housing values are waaay down. this is a bad idea and it will not work for anyone ot do such a thing. you do know that these unemployed are no all 21 year olds who can't find jobs right? most of these people were laid off or their jobs were cut and they had worked there for over 2 decades. you can not acquire new skills overnight and back then college was not necessary.prfctlefts wrote:Please tell me where in the hell you can find a decent paying job in this country with out a colllege education. jim bunning, playing politics with people's lives while he is a millionaire and not accountable to the public in a campaign is in fact a dick."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

You might guess that but you would be wrong. You are greedy if you make monster profits and you take jobs out of your own economy to make your profits bigger. I would suggest that if your business cannot survive without these measures, it's possible no one needs your product.prfctlefts wrote:Obviously none of you have ever owned your own business.
Wrong again, I work for myself and have employees. I treat them well and make sure they are paid well and happy. In return, they make my business thrive. Who said I am anti capitalism? not true. I am however anti unregulated capitalism. the rules are there to protect the workers and the consumers. if you don't agree, move to China and work in a factory. See how well that works for you.0 -

and were suppose to believe that Obama and the Dummycrates are the compassionate ones. When they are the ones who are waging a war against the private sector thorough confiscatory taxation, massive spending, regulations, and intimidation. The dems are the ones who are killing bussiness ,wealth creation, and re search and development,Homeownership, and jobs.
They are the ones who are destorying our currency and bankrupting the nation. Mortgaging our nation to the Red Chinese. Killing the american dream for your children and grandchildern, and were suppose to get all upset with one senator who finnaly says "enough is enough "
The Dems are the ones that want us to believe that any effort to stop power hungry, out of control,POLITICAL HACKS,or to stop desrtoying the financial system that protects this country is somehow in humane,or shows lack of compassion. :wtf: So someone please tell me what the Dems and some of the repukes have gotten us ?
I'll tell you...
3rd world levels of debt How about 10% unemplyment. Really it's a lot higher when you factor in the people that can find only part time work. And what about this New Phrase a JOBLESS RECOVERY ??? :eh: :wtf: does that mean ? Has anyone ever even heard that phrase before this hack we have for a president Obama started using it ?
Record Foreclosures.
Record Bankruptcies. ect. ect. ect.
why is it that you never mention how much money is spent fighting two wars, and funding the illegal occupation of another when you talk about money being spent? doesn't that bother you?0 -

yes but not as much is it does you. I have a different way of looking at it.breath123 wrote:Wrong again, I work for myself and have employees. I treat them well and make sure they are paid well and happy. In return, they make my business thrive. I suppose that's socialism in your view.
:? Really ??? No I consider that FREE ENTERPRISE. Oh Shit !!! I better be careful using that phrase because around here because it's considered blasphemy.I wouldn't wanna get banned..breath123 wrote:Who said I am anti capitalism? not true. I agree with you 110% but I think that is far as the feds should be abel to go. and no thanks as far as moving to china. I happen to like it here, I just detest about 90% of the politicians and all the damn beuacracies0 -
Care to elaborate? First let me say I did not agree with the bailouts nor the health-care program. I'm certainly not arguing that you maybe upset and displeased about the bailouts for banks, etc and how this administration has raised our debt, but at the same point, many of those bailouts or programs will offset some costs later on or even reduced further problems for our economy. You may not like that or agree with it, but that is the premise of these programs - invest into making the future better for our nation. Even if you disagree with the occurrence, you can't possibly say anything similar about our waging wars in Afghanistan and Iraq in that respect, and those funds are gone... never to be seen again... no investment, no future. And please do not use some response about our nations security,etc.. that's merely bs.prfctlefts wrote:yes but not as much is it does you. i don't think anyone said owning a business and making good money is bad....i think a lot of us just believe that if you do that, you can also afford to pay a little more in taxes. I have no problem with a tax increase on the top 1% of our economy. We're talking people who make a million or more a year; they're not hurting now and they won't be after that tax increase...the premise is 'THEY CAN AFFORD IT WITHOUT IT HURTING THEM FINCANCIALLY IN ANY WAY. Fucking Reagan raised taxes during the recession and nobody seems to remember that. He also doubled the defecit under his administration but the right and tea party seem to neglect that as well.0
