    But his tactics have brought attention to the issue, so hopefully in the long run these things get ironed out. Not saying it was the best way but it might work out for everyone. Wouldn't it be better to have this program funded correctly than have to worry month to month if it will even continue?

    Did Bunning vote to give tax cuts to the rich? Perhaps that is where they can find funding. Do Donald Trump and Paris Hilton need a tax break?

    This type of "making a point" at the expense of the average American is what makes the Tea party members angry. Bunnings actions will result in Americans (like our unemployed veterans) suffering !

    its not just tea partiers outraged by it. i think most americans are outraged by bunning's actions..i know that i am..

    big deal, he's getting attention...he's also playing with people's lives...at this point he's simply acting like a dick...

    for me it would be "better" to pass the legislation...as I'm not worrying about the month to month...and no one else did either until the deficit dodo's showed up...as if they know everything...

    i think it should be pointed out that this is a millionaire keeping middle class americans from their unemployment benefits. is bunning going to make the mortgage payments for every one of them affected by this?? its pretty bad when his counterpart mitch mcconnel says this will pass and bunning is just playing politics..

    bunning is holding millions of peoples lives hostage until families of the filthy rich get a tax cut.

    no...actually his position is not getting them to cut wasteful spending. his point was clearly the deficit and what he called passing on debt to our grandchildren. the simple fact is that for every $1 that is given out in unemployment payments, $1.63 is pumped into the economy. so its actually a stimulus and in no way could be considered wasteful spending.

    Hmmmm, Worldcom, Enron, Bernie Madoff, Wall Street derivatives, Bank of America and Wall Street insiders, crooks and swindlers deserve(d) to be stopped. There are private sector vampires who are sucking the life out of our nation. They move jobs overseas and hide income in Swiss bank accounts. Don't you think that the derivatives market should be regulated? They almost sent us into a depression.

    Democrats are not all good but Republicans have turned a budget surplus into a massive deficit. The GOP is the party of the rich.

    Personally, I don't think they should be extended due to "the economy" (which is what we blame all our troubles on these days).
    The only people we should try to get even with...

    a vast majority of these people laid off and unemployed are factory workers and those in manufacturing. those jobs are not coming back, and these people may not be qualified for anything else. this is the middle class we are talking about. many of them got their jobs 20 years ago when a college degree or high school diploma was not necessary and they could still make a decent living with a decent wage. the job market is tight, nobody is hiring anyone. in many fields you can not get a job without experience in that field, but how can you get experience if nobody will hire you? our system is fucked right now. many of these people are going to have to go back to school to get new skills, and how will they pay for their homes or support their families without unemployment benefits?

    quick question, if it was so easy to find steady employment don't you think that most of these people with bills to pay and mortgages to make would take whatever they can find even if it is not their ideal job?

    jim bunning is a dick. scoring political points with the teabaggers while playing with people's lives is downright cruel and dispicable...

    these business go overseas so they can pay someone 59 cents an hour when they would have to pay the american worker $20 an hour. its greed and profits and low overhead, not just taxes....
