Seriously though, landing a quad should be mandatory for a gold medal routine for the men. It's about taking risks and pushing the envelope, not just reciting what's been done in the past. The Russian showed more skill and he deserved to win that event.

yeah thing is though, it's not just a jumping competition. there has to be some artistry and good footwork too, which lysacek delivered on as well as nailing the jumps. plushenko did have a wobble here and there on landings, and his footwork and dance was clunky. it's not enough to be able to do a quad, you have to bring the rest of it to the table.

and beyond the ice, no bearing on the scores but just to be bitchy lol plushenko was punking other dude out, saying lysacek wasn't a man because he wouldn't do the quad (while slathered in sequins i'm sure lol). lysacek had a foot injury which basically precluded him from doing it....so it just made him look like an ass. and to be such a sore loser afterwards, bah.....f him!

Ya -- it's not a jumping competion and figure skating judging has been nothing less than a joke throughout eternity but the winner should be the one who risks more and comes away clean. Even the last place skater can do most triple combos. At the end of the day, I could really care less about who won but the olympics are supposed to be about pushing the envelope. In this case, the skater who risked the most and skated the most demanding routine didn't win.

Well....

I realize he won a Gold medal because they disqualifield the Korean....
I realize he won a silver medal because everyone wiped out, and Apolo crawled across the finish line....
I realize he won another silver this year, because the 2 Koreans wiped out....Had they not wiped out, Apolo finishes 4th.....

In three Olympics...
He has crossed the finish line, in 1st place, ONCE!!!

And then you are going to compare him to Bonnie Blair??? She won 5 GOLD Medals......

Yeah it is quite an accomplishment to win 6-7 medals....I get that...

But like I said....He sure does lose a lot....

Put skis on them...
Give them 2 shots of jaeger and 2 beers......
Blindfold them.....

1st one to the bottom WINS!!!!!

Skiers wear skis (but they are blindfolded to make it even)

skaters wear skates....
the bobsledder guys get strapped in to their bobsleds.....

Put everyone on top of the mountain.....

first one down wins.....


Or wait..... you can divide everyone by their countries!!!!! Ok...Now I got it figured out....


ITS A RELAY!!!!!

First the bobsledders go down the mountain..
Then the skiers...
Then the skaters.....

You go down the mountain....When you arrive at the next level...You have to drink 2 shots of jaegers....Then the next athlete goes down the hill.....so on...and so on.....

Actually it will be more of a marathon event....
