I just got their newest on vinyl for Christmas....truly awesome. The arrangement of songs there is better than the CD in my opinion.

I took the vinyl tracklisting and crammed as much as I could on one CD. I dropped my 4 least favorite songs to make it fit, but what's left is my favorite BC album.

Yeah before I actually got the vinyl I just couldn't take it anymore. I created a playlist with the arrangement and was immediately convinced of it's greatness.

    To Everyone Who's Cared:

Gladdest of tidings and happiest of New Years - so say all of us in The Black Crowes musical group!

Just a quick note to begin our future and a glance over our collective shoulders at what once was.

A heartfelt and sincere thank you is well in order, not just for the last tour, but for the last mystifying 20 years (WTF!). Without your support and interest we would be nothing but a void. With the breath of life, and the travels to and fro, a lump of clay is now a lifetime of song and adventure.

Thank you for letting us drive this outer space covered wagon to wherever fate and the wild winds take us.

Thank you for the freedom that music has gifted us and so many others.

As 2010 begins we would like to let you in on the next epic phase of Crowedom.

We just finished a new 20+ song set of Crowes' catalogue recorded acoustically with the full band and a few other friends. We're very excited about the session and feel it represents where we've been, who we are, and where we're going.

Expect more messages as the year progresses. Take care of yourself, that is take care of each other.
Love and respect....and the band played on.

    Thanks, Flagg!

Very introspective...the 20 year comment scared me, considering this band's history with internal differences (mostly the Robinson brothers). I'm very interested in this 20+ song set of Crowes catalogue recording...keep on freakin' and rollin'...can't wait for more Black Crowes. :D

I would about shit myself if TBC did an all-acoustic tour. Can you imagine how delicious that would be? The new tunes, plus classics, all in pure acoustic. I have Brothers of a Feather, but a full band acoustic tour would kick more ass than I can imagine...

I love it that they can completely change their sound and style and am glad they aren't trying to re-create Shake Your Money Maker or make the same record over and over.

I really dig the old stuff, and the shows back in the early 90s were beyond amazing in terms of energy. But I think I enjoy the post-hiatus period more.

And I am sure the next record won't be as bluegrass as this one. Maybe it will be all disco. Who the hell knows!

    I've heard that is underrated.

I have been considering endulging in the members solo work. I've samled Rich's album "Paper", and it's great. Marc Ford of course has some excellent solo work. Now that I have a review from a well seasoned Crowes fan on Chris's album...I'm pretty sure my next musical purchases will be solo projects from these guys.

Anyone ever checked out New Earth Mud...or whatever it's called... :?

I have both NEM albums. The 2nd one, TMD (referrenced earlier) is as good as a few of the BC records. No joke. The first one isn't too bad either.

I have not heard New Earth Mud, nor have I gotten Paper. And not to nitpick, but I think This Magnificent Distance is a CR solo record, not NEM. I could be wrong, but I think NEM was a one-off thing. I believe the band on TMD is different. Now I'm off to Wikipedia to verify, since everything on Wikipedia is accurate and true.
