The Black Crowes---Help

Back to the original post of this thread, I have been listening to nothing but the Crowes for the last 2-3 weeks. Seriously, NOTHING but the Crowes. I've listened to the entire discography multiple times and I have to say, the album that has crept up on me has been Three Snakes and One Charm... It's freakin' stellar...
Bring On, Bring On is one of my new favorite songs. My favorite track of the album...
Evil Eye, Mellow Down Easy, Under A Mountain, Nebakanezer, Blackberry... every song is awesome.
I also went on iTunes and bought the bonus tracks for this, SYMM, TSHMC, and Amorica... 99 lbs is another outstanding tune...
Oh, and although it took longer than I said it would, I'm uploading the High in Houston 1993 show I found a week or so ago... will post link when it's done uploading...Mesa 11/7/93 - Charlotte 10/4/96 - DC 6/14/98 - Raleigh 8/31/98 - Knoxville 9/6/98 - Columbia MD 9/18/98 - DC 9/19/98 - Columbia MD 9/4/00 - Phoenix 10/21/00 - Raleigh 4/15/03 - Phoenix 6/7/03 - Philadelphia 5/27&28/06 - DC 5/30/06 - Las Vegas 7/6/06 - San Diego 7/7/06 - LA 7/9&10/06 - Gorge 7/22&23/06 - Chicago 8/5/07 - PJ20 9/3&4/11 - Jacksonville 11/24/12 (EV) - Orlando 11/27/12 (EV) - Brooklyn 10/18&19/13 - Charlotte 10/30/13 - Memphis 10/14/14 - Ft Lauderdale 4/8/16 - Miami 4/9/16 - Jacksonville 4/13/16 - Hampton 4/18/16 - Chicago 8/20&22/160 -

Yes, 99 Pounds is a good one. I have a disc of some outtakes and stuff from back then and one of my favs is from SSYMM called Don't Wake Me.
Three Snakes has to catch me in the right mood. I hate that version of Halfway to Everywhere but love it live. But the opening 3 of Under a Mountain, Good Friday and Nebakanezer is hard to beat.DAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13

isn't 99 pounds a cover song? like humble pie or something? i may be imagining that...
three snakes is a solid album... that and by your side took a while to grow on me. the only albums i don't care for are lions (ironically, given my sn) and the new one.0 -

I feel the exact same way about Halfway To Everywhere...that song shines the best on the Freak N' Roll album, they just nailed it as the opener.
Don't Wake Me is an awesome song...looks like I'll need to check out this 99 lbs. song though.

You don't care much for the new one?? I've noticed some Crowes fans aren't up on it. Is it the real folk infusion?
I still need to get Three Snakes, By Your Side, and Lions!

might be. i like when wilco does the country rock thing, but for some reason the crowes don't seem to pull it off as well. i like them at their best doing the hard rock thing. i love a good jam band, but they're headed into phish territory.
warpaint was fucking awesome though.0 -

Wow, dcfaithful, surprising to hear that you don't have Three Snakes or By Your Side... You're right in saying you need to get them.
Lions is my least favorite too, but there are some good tunes on there. I've always liked Greasy Grass River's vibe and I dig Midnight From the Inside Out too.
And I freaking love Before The Frost... notice that I left off Until The Freeze... I don't dislike 'side 2' but I think the first half of the album is classic Crowes, with some disco boogie thrown in. Good Morning Captain, Appaloosa, Been A Long Time, Make Glad, What Is Home, I Ain't Hiding, I love 'em all...
Next to Southern Harmony, Before The Frost is my favorite Crowes record...Mesa 11/7/93 - Charlotte 10/4/96 - DC 6/14/98 - Raleigh 8/31/98 - Knoxville 9/6/98 - Columbia MD 9/18/98 - DC 9/19/98 - Columbia MD 9/4/00 - Phoenix 10/21/00 - Raleigh 4/15/03 - Phoenix 6/7/03 - Philadelphia 5/27&28/06 - DC 5/30/06 - Las Vegas 7/6/06 - San Diego 7/7/06 - LA 7/9&10/06 - Gorge 7/22&23/06 - Chicago 8/5/07 - PJ20 9/3&4/11 - Jacksonville 11/24/12 (EV) - Orlando 11/27/12 (EV) - Brooklyn 10/18&19/13 - Charlotte 10/30/13 - Memphis 10/14/14 - Ft Lauderdale 4/8/16 - Miami 4/9/16 - Jacksonville 4/13/16 - Hampton 4/18/16 - Chicago 8/20&22/160 -

I know man, I really need to get on it...I've listened to them all front to back, but just don't own them...been kind of hard to come by out here believe it or not. The selection of music stores in the north suburbs of SLC sucks...the only thing is Graywhale...or Wal-Mart (which I refuse to shop at).7/2/06 - Denver, CO

downloading not an option? that must suck not having a good music store. there are a couple decent ones here in orlando, but phoenix had a bunch of GREAT record stores, lots and lots of vinyl and used stuff to choose from. i miss those shops... so i feel your pain.
not to go off on a tangent, most of the vinyl i buy nowadays is online. i like elusivedisc.com and auralexploits is cool too, but elusivedisc is usually cheaper. just not the same as picking up the record and holding it in your hands before deciding to purchase though...
anyway, i digress...

Downloading is an option, but because the Crowes are my favorite band aside from PJ I like to get hard copies...vinyl stores are here, but in the city which isn't a problem. The music stores here aren't bad, but I usually find myself having to look around more than I should in order to find what I'm looking for.7/2/06 - Denver, CO
