I've given up on torrents. I honestly don't think I'd notice the difference in quality and I use an iPod, so I want mp3s... I tried a hundred times to figure the torrent thing, but I simply don't get it. Just fyi, as the bootleg sites I will be visiting will be geared more towards mp3 collectors like myself...

i am convinced torrents are some big practical joke and that anyone who claims to use them to actuall download music is in on it and just laughing at those of us trying to make this absurd, impossible system work.

Amen, I've never been able to figure out torrents. Are they idiot-proof or is this just some giant gag?

who knows? all i know is that i enjoy mp3s and i only need one piece of software to download and listen to them, as opposed to one program to find, one to download, one to decode, one to encode back to some other format, and then one to listen to.... at least that <= is what it feels like you have to do with torrents.

i ordered cabin fever and warpaint live on dvd tonight from amazon. should get them in a few days... merry christmas to me...

Got Cabin Fever today. If you enjoyed BTF/UTF, you'll definitely love this dvd. There's a good bit of cool behind the scene stuff.

Love the album, one of this year's best. Does the film contain all the songs?

No, not all of them...this is what I can recall without being @ home to look on the DVD

    Aimless Peacock
    Good Morning Captain
    What Is Home
    Shady Grove
    Roll Old Jeremiah
    Appaloosa
Been A Long Time (Waiting On Love)
    Garden Gate
    Shine Along
    Oh! Sweet Nuthin'

....I know I'm missing at least one.

Make Glad is moving up on my list of favorite songs from Before The Frost... Was hoping that was on the DVD, but either way, I can't wait to see it...

Anyone notice that Rich Robinson was involved in the "People Speak" documentary on PJ.com? He was at a live event about the film in the last couple days, I think in Portland... Anyway, kinda cool...

Chris made the list of people to appear too. Cabin Fever shows off Chris's very cool personality. He seems like a guy that would be very fun to just shoot the shit with.

and yes, Make Glad has been a huge favorite for me...hearing them open with it in SLC just kind of confirmed my liking. It has such a contagious groove to it. I was doing a beer dance at the show..

So, the show I went to about a month ago on November 15th was at a place called The Depot in SLC. I've got a buddy who works there on the stage crew and often times backstage with the band's roadies, crew, etc...

What a good friend, he was able to snag me the following:

    A setlist :)

And a backstage working pass  (crappy image, sorry)

    Those are awesome!!

By the way, I found a couple of fantastic older shows and downloaded the torrents. I know you guys said you don't do torrents. And I don't really deal with rapidshare and that stuff. So if you want, we could do an old fashioned B&P.

    Shows are:

    Maryland Heights - 6/23/06
    Norfolk - 7/14/06

That Norfolk show is fucking bad ass. Starts off with an acoustic set and then has a full electric set and encore. Much longer show than what they are doing now. If you want to hear what Marc Ford meant to this band, that Norfolk show is all you need. And that's coming from a Luther fan.

For sure, and dont be embarassed. I didn't know what B&P means either..kind of a pre-internet term. It means blanks and postage. I found out thanks to Flagg. 8-)

Yeah, that's how we used to trade shows before broadband made downloading large files so easy and before the torrent sites and trees and stuff. Basically you just send some blank CDs to someone along with a self addressed stamped return package. Then the person you sent it to burns the shows on CD and mail the package back.

Man, we used to send PMs back and forth on the old board and exchange shows. LOL. Like, I have MSG 1 '98 and you have Dallas '98 and we'd both burn copies and mail them. Those were the days!

so i just got warpaint and before the frost...

warpaint is really good. i'm really digging evergreen.

before the frost... is definitely different. been a long time (waiting on love) is a great song. really digging it. the rest of the album is gonna take some time to get into.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

I hear ya, it took a bit for me to. When I came around I realized that The Crowes are doing something new, and everything about it they are doing right. BTF/UTF will be a classic album.

Until The Freeze was the harder of the two discs for me to get into...but even now, I enjoy the hell out of it. I got the album on vinyl for Christmas and I like the arrangement of the vinyl much better...it all flows really good. Side A is my favorite: Aimless Peacock, Good Morning Captain, Been A Long Time (Waiting On Love), Greenhorn...so awesome!

  • Got a new 46' Samsung LCD, Blu-ray player, and Bose Cinemate II sound system for Christmas. The first blu-ray I bought was "Warpaint LIve". Awesome, awesome, awesome!!! "Whoa Mule","Torn and Frayed", and "Poor Elija" are really great. I was skeptical of how much better blu-ray would be compared to DVD, but blu-ray is definitely superior. Looks like the smoke from the stage is gonna roll right into the living room! "God's Got It" is also great with Steve in a marching band uniform beating the bass drum with a tambourine!

  • Ah the black crowes. I picked up that freak in roll live at the filmore cd about 2 yrs ago and that shit rocked my ass.The sound quality is excellent. It's too bad all the PJ boots don't sound as good, except live on 2 legs. I got to see the crowes back when their first cd came out in an auditorium in Chas SC and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen to this day. I got to see them again at a free concert at the Joe Riley baseball park with FILTER and STP they played a lot off of amorica which is a fav of mine. They played at the HOB in oct. and I could kick myself for not going, but I did see u2 the night before in Raleigh which was a hell of a show.

I just got warpaint so Im really liking it as well.

Amorica is a must have. Best of the Crowes albums IMHO. Then jump to Marc Fords "Weary and Wired". Incredible album.

i found it funny, CNN had the birth of chris's new kid in their ticker, but not for ed's new kid.

    meaningless blurb from me. :)
