    Touché.

And just curious...what songs did page steal? I am only aware of whole lotta love being one of those songs that no one knows the true original artist; like train kept a 'rollin.

That's pretty good. Sorry no Good Morning Captain, but High Head Blues is a winner and so is Downtown Money Waster.

So Many Times and Lady of Avenue A are my favs from the new records and I was hoping for them in Dallas but no dice. I love the harmony on So Many Times and Lady of Avenue A shows Chris's strength as a story teller. It reminds me of Girl From a Pawnshop which is probably why I like it so much.

By Your Side is a great song too and Been a Long Time kicks ass live.

Not a fan of And the Band Played On ad Ozone Mama, but hey, can't like 'em all and some people love them so all good.

And fucking Sister Luck!! Wow! Man, that song may have been what did it for me way back when. I still remember seeing them in some little shitty club here back in 1991 and they drug the ending of that song out for 10 minutes. I'll never forget that. I think they made a fan for life in that moment. Great song!!!!

Good show. Glad you enjoyed it!!!!

1.Dewey Cox was a damn funny movie.

    2. Correct me if I'm wrong but the stuff they got sued for was lyrical content. And it was more a case of bad management, by lack of knowing who and when to credit. I think the 70 or so other groundbreaking songs in their catalog make it a moot point.

    3. The Black Crowes are more vital than PJ has been for awhile, and the Crowes have never released and album as weak as the last 3 PJ albums.

When Chris Robinson lets the douche from Incubus or his 3 year daughter(I can't tell the diff) write lyrics come see me.

Yeah, I had a great time...and the performance was through the roof. Steve Gorman makes drumming look like a cake-walk...and that means I've heard Sister Luck at both TBC shows I've been to...NICE 8-)

wish I would've got GMC, but can't complain...High Head Blues and Downtown Money Waster were definitely highlights. Been A Long Time is a song meant to be played live...everyone in the crowd was dancing and gettin' down.

Can't wait until the next Freak N' Roll.

i usually don't come in a thread and knock someones band just because i don't like em' so i'm sorry for that boys.........but the justification is from listening to them.......they are pretty useless................and seriously, thinking this band is more vital than pearl jam is asinine.

so, nothing personal, but how about just shuffling off to some other thread then? there is no right or wrong in a matter of opinion, which the pearl jam vs. black crowes discussion is. we get it. you like pearl jam better (for the record, so do i, but that doesn't mean i think the black crowes suck. again, opinions can be quite diverse). you think the black crowes are lame. again, thanks for the input. although someone else asked for it, i personally don't need your justification. i accept your opinion, even if i don't care about it.
but you've jumped into a thread that's been enormously positive and celebratory for people that do like the crowes and injected a healthy dose of negativity and i don't get it. i don't want or need to know why. i would just ask that you go find another thread if all you want to do is bash a band or fans of a band for liking them. i'd say the same thing if this was an "I love N'Sync" thread. The negativity just serves no purpose for you or for us.

dcfaithful, agreed you got a nice setlist there. were you able to score a shirt or a poster or both? sister luck is one of my all-time faves and you got some good new tunes in there as well. where were you standing/sitting relative to the stage?

nice work on the setlist too...

and i sure did not bash any fans so please don't state something that i didn't do.

    Got a shirt :)...I just couldn't pass it up. I couldn't afford a poster...correction, I could've had I not bought beer...but, who wants to do that? ;)

Thx, I'm pretty stoked to get the setlist and have it as a souvenier. I was standing behind a couple who were on the barrier right in front of Sven and Luther. I had to leave to take a monster piss after all the beer and was afraid I was going to not be able to make it back. Luckily all the people were cool enough to let me shimmy through the crowd back to the front.

Useless? Wow. I'd hate to hear what you call a bands like Nickelback and Hinder  , who I think are much more deserving of the 'useless' label. To each their own though. Although I still don't understand the reasoning of coming in to a thread that is so pro-Crowes in order to voice your disliking for them....seems rather....useless. :?

Back to the original post of this thread, I have been listening to nothing but the Crowes for the last 2-3 weeks. Seriously, NOTHING but the Crowes. I've listened to the entire discography multiple times and I have to say, the album that has crept up on me has been Three Snakes and One Charm... It's freakin' stellar...

Bring On, Bring On is one of my new favorite songs. My favorite track of the album...

Evil Eye, Mellow Down Easy, Under A Mountain, Nebakanezer, Blackberry... every song is awesome.

I also went on iTunes and bought the bonus tracks for this, SYMM, TSHMC, and Amorica... 99 lbs is another outstanding tune...

Oh, and although it took longer than I said it would, I'm uploading the High in Houston 1993 show I found a week or so ago... will post link when it's done uploading...

Sweet! Definitely would like that. Will download after work. Thanks!!!

Yes, 99 Pounds is a good one. I have a disc of some outtakes and stuff from back then and one of my favs is from SSYMM called Don't Wake Me.

Three Snakes has to catch me in the right mood. I hate that version of Halfway to Everywhere but love it live. But the opening 3 of Under a Mountain, Good Friday and Nebakanezer is hard to beat.

isn't 99 pounds a cover song? like humble pie or something? i may be imagining that...

three snakes is a solid album... that and by your side took a while to grow on me. the only albums i don't care for are lions (ironically, given my sn) and the new one.

99 Lbs. is a cover song. Humble Pie was the original artist.

I feel the exact same way about Halfway To Everywhere...that song shines the best on the Freak N' Roll album, they just nailed it as the opener.

Don't Wake Me is an awesome song...looks like I'll need to check out this 99 lbs. song though.

Would love to hear more Crowes b-sides.

You don't care much for the new one?? I've noticed some Crowes fans aren't up on it. Is it the real folk infusion?

I still need to get Three Snakes, By Your Side, and Lions! :o

might be. i like when wilco does the country rock thing, but for some reason the crowes don't seem to pull it off as well. i like them at their best doing the hard rock thing. i love a good jam band, but they're headed into phish territory.

    warpaint was fucking awesome though.

I hear ya, I often miss the Crowes laying down just hard rock n' roll...but I've been able to adjust to the new vibes. Agreed that Warpaint was a home run.
