Haven't you noticed all the news on violence in Melbourne and other cities in Australia in the last year or so?
Wasn't like this last time PJ were here.

I agree, but do you feel a seated floor instead of GA would help to make it so that society's violence could be avoided for the duration of the show?

Of course, everyone is in an assigned seat instead of people battling for "seats" that arent assigned. Assholes will always be assholes, but they cant take someones seat away from them like they can in GA.

This is why I don't like GA... I can't handle the aggression cause as much as there are great people around, there are always a large number of asshats that push, shove, elbow, kick and do just about anything to get to the front. I can't imagine these GA crowds can be as insane as they were in Australia in '95, though... it was beyond intense at Eastern Creek and Canberra. Weren't chairs ripped off the floor in Melbourne and people jumping over the walls from the elevated areas to get to the floor? Not to mention the fence coming down at the Music Bowl. My worst GA experience was RHCP at the Hordern in '92, I didn't even make it through the 2nd support act before needing to be pulled out by security... I was the last girl left on the rail but I just couldn't do it... one too many people stage-diving on my head and being body slammed into the rail. No thanks.

Indeed ;) I'm very glad to hear it... shame there are some dipshits out there that still want to ruin it. All this been said, I would do GA in Europe in a heartbeat and I had fun at Lolla and the crowd at SF Outside Lands was fantastic, there was no aggression at all, which was really nice... everyone was stoned, lol.

I didn't know that all the U.S shows were seated. If this is the case, I can't see why management decided to do General Admission for the current Australian tour.

If anyone at PJ HQ reads this - For the next Australian tour, please revert back to seated floor plans.

The only shows that have GA here are the one's that have festival settings like LOLLA ,ACL,so forth, but any arena shows have reserved seating but still even for festivals here the crowds just wan't to enjoy the music and just rock on not to aggressive at all ...

I volunteer to be doompony's body guard. All you need to do is pay my airfare from Seattle and provide me with ticket to the show. BTW, I'm 6'4" and weigh about 240 and know kung foo. I'm a big mo'fo'. :D I will protect you and MR. SNUGGLTON from all the arseholes no problem.
  • if ANYONEoutside of the 10c Tries to push in front of me at all.. they'd better watch it.. I will be in no mood for Assholes who don't respect other people who just wanna have a Fricken awesome time and have been waiting for ages to get their tickets and get into the venue itself!!

If people wanna go to the shows just to start trouble..perhaps they are better off staying at home and letting everyone else ENJOY What they have been waiting MONTHS For!!!

PJ HQ please ignore above statement. We love GA here in Aussie land. As if change it just because 0.0001% of the crowd are idiots :o

I'm speaking for some of the 10C members and non-members who had to endure violence and aggression at the Perth show. The 0.0001% of idiots fucked it up for others - that isn't right.

Ah, the beauty of paying for reserved seats. No headaches. You can go for a drink, check out the merchandise table, hang out with friends anytime & anywhere. When finished, you can head back to your seat. The seat you payed for. A seat nobody can bother you in. Nobody can push & shove. A seat of zen. You can place your poster, your jacket etc.. seat back & relax.

GA sucks. I would pay double even triple the price on ticket's to have reserved seats then to be in today's GA standing show's. People today are not like the people of yesterday. Trust me. There are alot of crazy nuts out there that will try to ruin it for you. The 'woman & childen first' rule, doesn't apply during a rock show these day's. Last few show's I went to, I've seen & heard how fans would crash their way from the very back of the show & get their way to the very front. The 'excuse me' or 'i'm sorry' words when pushing & shoving, don't apply to many. Say over 75% of people today. It's pretty sad. Somebody mentioned earlier that people today are calmer then before. Are you out of your mind! With all the newest drugs, more smoking & drinking @ show's then ever before, the economy, the internet, the popularity .. things have been wilder then ever before.
