I wouldn't say I am Atheist...more of an Undecided at this point. I can Still enjoy the holidays..mostly beacuse you get to see friends and family.Brisk. wrote:Ugh, im 19 and totally sick of it all already. Just so in your face everywhere you go, and im totally atheist and dont like religion anyway. Recieving a few cheques and some chocolate is always a win though. Shopping for people who are close to you also sucks because you worry too much if they will like your present! Probably will be better when i got kids
I grew up with great Christmases in my family and it is something I work very hard to re-capture for my kids. Maybe that's the difference.0 -

That's exactly what I love about Christmas, not the religious aspect (i'm not a Christian but do believe in God), but the getting together with family and friends and relaxing.Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.0 -

Thanksgiving is the best holiday anyways.
Thanksgiving and Halloween are the best to me. Christmas is just a ton of work rounding up gifts. I hate it. The going home and decorations and time with family is nice, but the rest I can do without.0 -
i already starterd listening to xmas carols at work...it actually is quite relaxing backround music.I love to turn you on0

Yep! Me, tooSteve Dunne wrote:i already starterd listening to xmas carols at work...it actually is quite relaxing backround music.
I had to control the urge to watch Scrooged until November came around. As the World Series is on I'm delaying the movie for a couple days. Usually I would have watched it at least 3 times by now.
I have enough yarn to knit at least 4 Christmas gift scarves. I got to get a move on, though. My dad's socks are done for Christmas, and my mom's first sock is almost done. After the socks and scarves I'll move on to finishing my mom and dad's 2008 and 2007 Christmas needlepoints (oops!
)
I already bought 2 ties for my brother-in-law (one for his birthday and one for Christmas). He really appreciates ties for gifts. However after I bought them I found out he's going to Kuwait for a year in the navy. So, I guess these ties may become my brother's birthday and Christmas gifts. Who knows, maybe he'll need ties in Kuwait. One of the ties is based on the quilts of Gee's Bend, and is very cool. There is no such thing as leftover pizza. There is now pizza and later pizza. - anonymous

Nice to see I'm not the only one listening to Christmas songs right now.

me too.
then thanksgiving usually closely follows.
right after that tho - let the christmas lovin' begin!
i used to also always have all my christmas shopping done before thanksgiving, cards written out by december 1st, etc, etc. i still like to be organized/ahead of schedule but have tweaked the process some. starting last year, mr. dream and i have taken the week after thanksgiving off. it's great b/c it extends the holiday for me and also b/c then in early december will spend maybe a day during the week doing all our shopping....we'll go see a matinee...go out to dinner.....then get our tree and decorate the house that week too. so we still get all "set" for the holidays early, but we also ease into the month of celebrations chill and relaxed. i LOVE christmas trees and decorating, so i soooo enjoy just having the tree lit, candles everywhere...glss of wine in hand.
oh, and i just about stopped sending christmas cards. i just don't enjoy it the way i used to, started becoming a chore/expense...so if i send 15 cards out to a few choice "special" people, it's a lot. i also have it fairly easy in that i only have a handful of people to shop for. oh and i love, love, love wrapping presents!
this year too, my firm is closing between christmas and new year's.....so really, what a relaxing/fun month it shall be! 8-)Stay with me...
Let's just breathe...

I love Christmas, it's my son's birthday on christmas day so it makes it extra special.

ME!!craigb wrote:Who doesn't like Christmas?
It is the worse time of year for me. The marketing people started in early September around here with Christmas sales, decorations, etc. It's at least 5 months long, 'cuz there is also the sales for people who are returning gifts.
I love Halloween, but it was like it didn't even exist. The stores are so full of Christmas stuff that the Halloween stuff was crammed in a corner hardly noticeable.Save room for dessert!0 -
i don't really care about Christmas,i am however EXCITED to hear the New Pearl Jam Christmas Single!
Hopefully its not a live track from the tour, I want something NEW.
