  • I usually don't get excited for Christmas until my birthday has come and gone. So only another 28 days until I can start getting excited for Christmas, I can't wait.

I've only had a handful of good memories of Christmas, and with getting separated and having no MONEY doesn't help, and that's what Christmas and most of the Holidays are all about... :(

    Wish you were here...

  • While I enjoy having time off work, and spending time with family and friends. I dread the forced gift giving more and more each year.

What more could one want for christmas than PJ.

  • As a child, Christmas is great. As an adult... it's like pulling teeth. I enjoy the whole getting together with my family thing. What I don't enjoy is the week leading into Christmas where people are driving like fucking animals on the road to buy gifts. (parking lots are especially bad. People just don't feel the need to follow any kind of common sense and feel the need to cut across parking spots. Nothing like almost getting T-boned by a crazed soccer mom in a huge SUV, twice.)

I especially hate Christmas music and whats worse is every gadget, clothing company or phone company takes these jingles and adds their company name into the song... so every time you have a T.V. on your hearing the tune Jingle Bells inserted with the words, "Get Sprint Now! Get Sprint Now!" Or, you're standing in line at Best Buy and the loudspeaker says, "Here's a Christmas classic. Bono from U2 and Snoop Dogg sing Silent Night."

Obviously, kids don't have jobs or a steady income, so I can see why they dig it and why as a child I dug Christmas, but as an adult I feel awkward asking for a gift. If there is anything I want, I can usually just purchase it for myself, (within reason). So usually it comes down to something like, "Uh...hmmm... I guess I was kind of interested in that new (fill in the blank) CD. I guess you could get that."

Last year was the best Christmas I ever experienced. Our family agreed to skip the whole gift giving thing and instead just had a nice dinner. It was very laid back.

Another reason I dislike Christmas is because it is now interfering with my favorite holiday, Halloween. I can't tell you the amount of stores I went to where there was just as much Christmas stuff on the shelves as there were Halloween items.
  • yep - in another week or two we will have all the stressful part out of the way (planning which family and who to see when).

Then I can enjoy the season. Wifey and I just got our vacation sorted out - which is also a stressor. I manage a hotel and she is a nurse.
  • I absolutely adore Christmas

We already have most things sorted and we're well on our way to being completely done, apart from food shopping... I'm sooooooooo excited about it this year
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

Ugh, im 19 and totally sick of it all already. Just so in your face everywhere you go, and im totally atheist and dont like religion anyway. Recieving a few cheques and some chocolate is always a win though. Shopping for people who are close to you also sucks because you worry too much if they will like your present! Probably will be better when i got kids
