hey guys,
great show in ridgefield. high energy opening 3 or 4 songs....great ben harper of course...Ed seemed in great spirits early on..
i havent read through the whole thing, but i dont remember anybody mentioning what Ed did during the very end of life wasted to end the main set.
Mike was soloing away and ed stood in front of the speaker, swirling the mic cord in a cirlce, whipping it harder and harder...and it started to effect the sound mikes guitar....it was really cool..Van '98, Sea I+II '00, Sea '01, Sea II '02, Van '03, Gorge, Van, Cal, Edm '05, Bos I+II, Phi I+II, DC, SF II+III, Port, Gorge I+II '06, DC, NY I+II '08, Sea I+II, Van, Ridge , LA III+IV' 09, Indy '10, Cal, Van '11, Lond, Van, Sea '13, Memphis '14, RRHOF '17, Sea I+II '18, Van I+II, Vegas I+II, Sea I+II '240 -

It was an incredible show...RM w/BH, In Hiding and a little John Doe too...WOW! The vibe was definitely different than Mon and Tues, but really, really great just the same. We met a fun Dad and son from the area...in seats 19th row seats 5-6...the first concert they've attended together. The son, Keenan, is 16 and is studying guitar...totally stoked to be there and watch Mike. The Dad was awesome...a police officer that helped with a situation when some lame-ass tried to take another neighbor's seat when he stepped out for a beer (what's fn up with that?)...and could fly the middle fingers when needed in Not 4 You. As we were totally rockin out, it was sweet to see them high-five and give each other hugs throughout the show...really touching stuff! During Porch the Dad offered me his shoulders...and for a moment, I had the best seat in the house...MINDBLOWING!!! I think I was still in la-la land at the end of the show, because I didn't ask for their contact info...so if this is you...please contact me....trust me, I have security questions. Overall, at the three shows so far, the people we have met have been so kind, friendly and genuine...it truly restores one's faith in the whole human race.
Other info:
It was our first time to the Clark Kent Amphitheater...well, I think it resembled a prison yard...or a place to keep livestock during inclement weather...we also had people going in and out of our aisle CONSTANTLY...even during Y. Led...guess they didn't realize that alcohol is available outside the amphitheater and in their hometowns too. The "quick n easy" shuttle system left something to be desired as well....the only reason I'd go back there is for PJ...last night, they were "classin' up the joint".
Were you in section 102?
-Yes-0 -
Amazing show! I was at Seattle night 2...a ridiculously good show...and this was just as good. The fact that I was half the distance from the stage helped though; I was 17 rows back in section 101(Stone's side) compared to floor row 35 on tuesday. Thanks for the hook up 10C, I was very happy with the seats since I have a high number(420,XXX).
I was glad they brought Ben Harper out, and man did he rock that slide guitar solo! It was really a treat to hear Golden State for the first time since I don't have a record player to listen to the xmas single.
The new stuff is so good that I didn't mind hearing them all again...Amongst the Waves, Unthought Known, Got Some were my faves. I was praying that they would bust out Force of Nature for the first time, but no such luck. For some reason they play Johnny Guitar every night which is a mediocre song I think. Oh well.
The energy was awesome and Ed was as entertaining as ever. "wherever the fuck we are!" as he said several times. And the fiasco with the guitar pick was funny...after Ed asked the roadie for a pick the guy looked around for a second in panic and then grabbed one of Stone's picks I think and murmered to Ed something like "all I have is one of Stones" (I was a ways back, so not really sure) to which Ed replies "just get me a fuckin' guitar pick!". Ha ha, then he turned to Corin and said he'd be nicer to her.
This was my first show at the CC Amphitheatre and it was great, but I'm glad we weren't in a rush to get home afterwards as all the parking lots seemed to have only one exit causing massive pile-up. My wife and I just hung out in our car in the afterglow for a while until it died down.
Pearl Jam fans are the best, what a great atmosphere. Come back and rock the northwest soon fellas!!0 -
First Thought- Every 10C member I knew had the BEST seats in the house! Including myself. I didn't bother to check the seating chart until I got inside..As I walked down down down to the floor, tears filled my eyes..9th row aisle, Mikes side! Holy sheeps balls! I am very short, and could see everyone perfectly! Thank you so much 10 club for giving us Oregonians the best of the best! WOW! Speechless..
The setlist kicked Seattles ass! OMG! They truely cranked it up a few notches for this show, which happened to be my bf's first show.He was totally amazed at the crowd, the energy, the participation, he even wanted to buy a t-shirt after the show, but right before we got our turn, they took the one down he wanted, but I am thrilled to no end he finally understands my obsession!
Ben Harper-Red Mosquito-DAMN!!!! I am still in awe! No words can say enough about this show at this time.
I also wanted to let everyone know it was so great spending the past week with you! Old friends, making new ones and just living the PEARL JAM DREAM! The perfect ending to my Pearl Jam week..I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me...GUARANTEED!

I was on the lawn (at least part of the time-sorry to all of you paying people who have to put up with drunk asses like me running up and down the aisles trying to get close to the stage.) It actually wasn't too bad. I was able to see pretty well standing on the concrete below the railing. I would definitely say the crowd was better than seattle 2. People were actually moving a little bit. I've never really listened to Ben Harper, but I thought he was a great opener. Definitely rocked a lot more than I thought he would. The setlist at seattle 2 was better, but the energy from the crowd made portland a better show to me. They both kicked ass though.0

What's up PJ fans? Its was such a frustrating cluster-fuck trying to get to this show. I pull strings to get off work early. Go to Kinkos to print off my tickets and can't log into ticketmaster - WTF. So I had to rely on two lawn tickets that I fatefully bought the night before for a friend, who decided he couldn't go. I was extremely hungover. Then I try to leave Eugene after the F-ing Duck ends... OMG, bumper to bumper all the way to Portland... sometimes completely stopped. I missed Ben Harper, but made it for PJ.
But what a great show. Mike was on fire and I was happy to be on his side for the first time ever. I will definitely be getting the boot for this show. They have a hell of new album on the hands. The new songs are all great live. I'm so happy about Backspacer!!!
A plus, is that I took my Korean gf. I been telling her that PJ is greatest American rock band ever and rock-n-roll is America's greatest art. So her going to the concert is a highlight in her American experience. She goes back to Korea in the spring, I'm teaching her right;) But it was perfect because Mike took YL into the Star Spangled Banner. She's a believer for sure now, loved the show.
I'm so happy to have seen PJ in 09! It was worth all the frustration.Twenty-ten watch it go to fire!!!0 -
We also parked at Jollies. It was a chilly walk back, but well worth it. Didn't take but 3-4 min to hit the hwy and on the road to trek back over Mt. Hood.bicyclejoe wrote:Great show. I liked Seattle 2 a bit more. Still, it was hard not to soak up the energy of the arena and the band, with nice early autumn breeze blowing though the seats.
Highlight of the night: Red Mosquito with Ben Harper and Golden State with the awesome Corin Tucker.
My only complaints:
-- They sound-checked Breakerfall and didn't play it (got my hopes up for a let down :-()
-- I was row Q on Mikes side and the incline for the arena leaves a lot to be desired. We had a tall tree of a guy standing in front of us (a really nice guy, but huge) and even at 6-1 I had a hard time seeing around him.
-- The woman with her husband next to me and my buddy who drank about 6 glasses of wine and was slobbering drunk. She was flailing around and screaming the lyrics (mostly the wrong ones) during the set.
Still, a great show.
One more thing: The parking and traffic.
I posted this over on The Porch but realized it was better suited for this forum.
I wrote this little ode to the Clark County Amphitheater's parking and traffic woes -- a Pearl Jam traffic report -- on my Oregonian blog Friday:
http://blog.oregonlive.com/commuting/20 ... end_t.html
The bike plan worked perfectly. My friend and I were the only ones with bikes at the arena. Crazy.
After the show, we rolled out of the parking lot, past the line up of cars and an unbelievably long line for the C-Tran shuttle, took a couple back roads under the glimmering stars and half moon to our parked car and were home within 15 minutes.
How long did it take everyone to get out of the parking lost last night? My question to everyone else: How long did it take everyone to get out of the parking lost last night?
Thanks for your help.
I'll post a link to my full report and show review on my blog on Monday.Post edited by yahamita onI knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me...GUARANTEED!

-Yes-
Sorry about that. We were in section 102, seats 11-12. I'm 99% sure it was me, trying to babysit my drunk friend. We left during Y. Led because I wanted to get him out of there. It had nothing to do with getting alcohol. Thanks for understanding.Ed...buddy...pal...stay true to your word and play Boise again.
