For those that know I sat next to bicyclejoe for both Seattle shows, and know my propensity to throw back a few, please note, he's not talking about me and my girl ... we were no where near Portland.
carry on ...
No. You two were awesome. This was my first Pearl Jam concert (lived in Alaska before moving down to Portland, so not a lot of chances to see them
). INCREDIBLE show! Energy was awesome, Eddie sounds phenomenal live, and great setlist. As everyone has mentioned, Red Mosquito with Ben Harper on slide guitar was a nice treat. Kicking myself for not going to the Seattle shows as well. Maybe I'll try to make the San Diego show...

great show. my first since 2003 and my first with 10c tix. (312XXX and we got center section row P for those that keep track of such things.) i could not believe how close we were to the stage! everyone around was happy with their tix as well. it's a big improvement from the lawn at shoreline like my last 3 shows.
highlights:
rocking start. you could tell they came to destroy the place! mission accomplished.
the new material sounded great. especially amongst the waves and unthought known. so much better than the album versions (as i usually think the live shows are)
ben harper tore it up on red mosquito. it was really cool to see him keep looking over at mike and mike just nodding at him to keep going. i could tell that mike really respected what ben was doing.
GOLDEN STATE?!?!?! that's just ridiculous that it got played. i would not expect to see that ever again.
ed had lots of good banter - like after green disease. and the pick thing. i got the impression that the roadie was fucking with ed. he produced a pick so quickly after ed started yelling - it was like how you (i) would mess with your best friend. just get him all pissed off and make him look silly. the whole episode was funny from my seat.
lowlight: (no, not the song)
ed said they would not be back in the nw for a while. bummer.bicyclejoe wrote:How long did it take everyone to get out of the parking lost last night? My question to everyone else: How long did it take everyone to get out of the parking lost last night?
concert over at 11. back to the car by 11:30(?). not on the freeway until 12:45. cca has to do something about that parking situation.
thanks to all who made it a great experience!0 -
I had premier parking. We hung out in the parking lot for a good while after the show. Then we were about the last ones out of the premier lot and we were back on North bound I-5 by 12:02. Didn't take long at all to get out.bicyclejoe wrote:How long did it take everyone to get out of the parking lost last night? Great video, i happily noticed the man with the big professional looking camera shooting footage during Red Mosquito.
That's interesting...0 -
just my luck that the one show i get full access backstage and the band leaves right after the show ends. oh well. guess thats what happens when they play some nowhere venue.0

Had a blast. I was section 101 row S and I have a crap ten club #. Thanks 10C for the seats!
Lots of highlights: In Hiding, Present Tense, Inside Job, and all the others that were mentioned prior. That's the second best show I've seen behind Bonnaroo. I wasn't too impressed with the Outside Lands show, so it was good to see them return to form, for me anyway.
Just got to Salt Lake. Looking forward to tomorrow! We were but stones... Your light made us stars0 -

It could have been the in house video guy. They project on screens for the folks in the grass...I was too close to notice

Opening with "Gonna See My Friend" was really cool. It set the tone for the entire night.
Highlights for me were Black w "we belong together". Golden State and RM w/Harper. That was amazing.
It was also great sitting next to two first timers. It was a mom and her 11 year old son. They were both just rocking with the biggest smiles on their faces. They'll be back again.
14th show. I wish I could go to every show. This never gets old.0 -

I was down front at SBE & dont have any pics of it, so i kinda see where the photographer/concert attendee is coming from....although 70 pics in 2.5 hr concert does work out at a photo every 2.14 minutes....which is pretty frequent....0 -

The first few times I was up close I took a ton of pictures and then I realized its a waste of time, none are going to be better then the official pics posted by the band so now I just enjoy the show, I barely take my camera out, if I wanted to watch the show through a screen I could buy a dvd.{if (work != 0) {

This was show (lucky) #13 for me... I had a blast at the two Seattle shows, but honestly, nothing tops that Red Mosquito. In Hiding was pretty darn awesome to hear, too

Holy freaking wow, batman!...master of karate and friendship for everyone!0
