Cool t-shirt!!
I was lucky enough to see the Neil Young/PJ concert at Caesaria back in '95... keep wondering why they've never returned as a full group to play.:: Caesaria - Israel 1995, Wembley 1996, Manchester 2000, Leeds 2006, Manchester 2009, Manchester 2012, Manchester 2012 (EV), Leeds 2014, London 2018 ::0 -

And I think I saw you, the security was pissing you off with their "On your Bum" commands
find me on facebook (Einat Shaul) and share your photos if you have some, or anything else!
 that was me in my antiestablishment revolutionary role. I accept its pretty pathetic really
I'll find you on facebook, all my pics are on there
I can see why they annoyed you, you have a streak of Wolfie Smith within you!
However, I'll just say one more complimentary thing about the MEN staff. At SBE we were also baking at the front and the security 'helped' by occassionally squirting water towards the crowd from sports bottles. I either got an eye full of water or a choking mouthful. At MEN the staff really kept the cups of water coming and I think that they did a pretty good job looking after all of us who were struggling at the front.. certainly better than the SBE staff did!we're all going to the same place...0 -
The Manchester show was the least favourite of the 4 I went to. The crowd were attrocious. It may have been rough in the middle, but I was standing 1/4 to 1/3 of the way back on Mikes side and there was no audience participation - not even a bit of movement when Even Flow played. I've never been so disappointed by a crowd (again, this is only where I was!) :x I'll be hard pushed to ever go to Manchester again. :!: :roll:0

when Eddie said for Dan to turn the lights it was to shine the spotlights down on the 69+1 girl! I doubt they have any control over the main lighting, even in the reviews linked on here, said in London the organisers signalled to end by putting the lights on which of course made Eddie do a sit down protest

Have to say we had no crowd problems at all in 104 - sounded exactly like 115 - everyone loud and rocking and practically weeing themselves to just be there wearing the biggest grins
Everytime I looked up at Eddie he appeared to just be
and its only reading the comments here that's making me question how good a time everyone had, us, the boys etc
How in advance do they announce the shows for the year as I read somewhere that they are in the middle of planning the tour for 2010?0 -
As for walking off with the book in front of his face, I was right in front of him and though he was just playing to the crowd....like, "I'm not worthy!" kind of thing. I thought the crowd ROCKED!0

Hey p I suppose that's the beauty of PJ! Having seen the lads 10 times since 96, I found the O2 as possibly my best ever gig! And we still didn't get to have a pint together!! Next time dude!pdalowsky wrote:Irish Al wrote:First chance to post, and first off I want to say I'm delighted that so many of you had a great night!
For me it was a gig of two very contrasting halves! We started off about 10 rows back on stones side but had to move after about 5 songs as the heat was like nothing I've ever experienced. A bit further back the view was cool and the screens were great.
I thought the lads were a bit all over the shop for the first half. To me ed seemed manic and not in a good way, he was up and down like a yoyo and god love that roadie! Jeff was defo shootin ed daggers at one stage and it all seemed a bit disjointed.
I honestly at one point was thinking how is this the same band that I saw less than a week earlier in sbe. Normally when the band walk on stage and begin playing, the hairs on the back of my neck stand and stay that way throughout. the crowd also seemed a bit all over the place.
Then theY started RVM and all went straight upfrom there! What a gucking version that was, defo THE best I ever heard and it just kept building. By the end I was feeling yes this is the band I love so much.
It's all so subjective I know but for me it was z funny old night anx I truely am delighted so many of you enjoyed it so much, that's the beautybof this band.
On a separete note I am over the moon for barbara getting smile and the dedication, if ever a pj deserved it, it's babs!
It was great catching up with old friends and making new ones!
Wow Al, its strange how people see shows different isnt it?
I though the show was perfect. Vedder was awesome on long road, changing the low to high and putting in some nice variance
I even though the crowd were more up for this one that at the 02, as the space on the floor at the 02 was unreal........I was over the other side though by Jeff and Eddie 2nd from the barrier so maybe I caught a different perspective. Stones side is never as interesting in my opinion as there isnt so much going on. Stone is the least animated of the 5.
This set rocked hard, to get RVM GTF and Go in a row, was unreal. Smile was beautiful too. 02 missed guven to fly, and thats a glaring miss for me. that chorus waqs soaring on all 4 dates prior.
Still best version of Got some was in berlin, and likewise for briother. Man Jeffs bass was cranked up extra high and was the main focus on those songs, sounded truely awesome.
I cant believe how good the last week was.
Did anyone notice eddie falling out with Rick in the 02??I need a coffee!0 -

Well, I thought it was an amazing gig, me and my mates had an ace time, the only issue we had was with one of the security staff  he took my ticket and were so god damn rude about it, and then wouldn't let me go back to merchandise stand as we were sent out of the back exit. So, I never got any merchandise
(if anyone has a sticker set, poster, well anything really they will sell let me know!)
I did have my camera with me, got quite a few pics, some have come out better than others! I've put them on here - http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=115228&id=677121313&l=7d4bc482e4

IMO both shows were amazing in their own rights. SBE for the atmosphere, the intimacy and the special guests. Manchester for the setlist, the audience and the fact that my mate has been waiting for 20 years to see them and it was his first show :O) it was my 3rd so until now it was always a sore point.
Those photos are absolutely amazing. I presume you had a photo pass to get those shots!0 -

Aside from London in 2007, I've never known a Pearl Jam show where the standing crowd was heavily into the show so far back. It was the same in Dublin in 2006. The crowd were awful that night....most of them just seemed like pissed up idiots who had come purely to see the band play Alive. At least the Manchester crowd were all on their feet!! 8-)A democracy on paper, apparently well ordered, regularly subverted by irrational chaos.

exactly..and 1 of 5 never stand up of his chair..i was 10c seated people dont even clap their hands..and in black and alive no passion at all..after 7 shows i see tthis was the worst crowd i ever see in a rock concert,,and if u compare it with the next day one?O.M.G...London was so amazing!!!!!!Sian-of-the-dead wrote:The Manchester show was good... Last Exit was a welcome surprise (mainly because audiodave wanted to see it like no one's business and seeing his face when it kicked in was worth the ticket price alone
) and the set on the whole was brilliant!
The only negative thing I will say about Manchester is that, to me at least, the crowd seemed really hostile. People (mainly GA, I have to admit) were rude, forceful and determined to get down the front regardless of who they trod on. I've seen PJ at festivals and their own shows and this was by far my least favourite crowd. I have to say that it did put a bit of a damper on the evening for me."...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

Definitely my least favourite of the 5. I think I have better heat tolerance than most, what with being used to wearing the goddamn wig up front for whole shows. BA mishandled all the bags of the people connecting from Berlin through Heathrow and Manchester. No wig. So I got me my Philly 4 costume in advance, that black/yellow prisoner/bee jumpsuit.
Jeez that was a mistake. Fuck it's hot wearing that and my standard tee and jeans. Nearly melted in there in the second row. No wonder Kevin and the others in the crew look at me like I'm an idiot.
I know it's my own fault for putting myself in such a position, but surely the staff could hand out a bit more water.
So getting dehyrdrated sucks. You know what sucks more? Getting kicked in the head 7 times. Not like I haven't been knocked out already from the water loss. Would've volunteered to get outta there if I didn't start hearing Indifference, at the point when I just couldn't bear it anymore.
So the bee/prisoner suit is gonna stay in the dresser for GA shows. No more of that anymore. Thank bejeesus the Halloween show is in seated sedate USA.115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!0
