This is Pearl Jam's ticket system, their club and their (the Band's) wishes. If you don't like the rules then take your ball and go home. For all three previous Toronto shows (05 and 2 in 06) I was in row 24...It won't make a difference if I'm in row 28 this time...I still get to see the band, and I'm at least 1 row closer then the people who bought their tickets from ticketmaster. That's good enough for me.
There are two different discussions going on on this thread - whether the lottery's a good thing or not, and whether the Ten Club did the right thing by arbitrarily changing the ticket distribution method after the on-sale. These shows were billed as seniority only - it even specifically said that newer members shouldn't expect to be up close.

Exactly...... I'm sure 10c would oblige.

This just comes down to false advertisement and has anyone from 10C come on here to state their mistake i'm all for what's good for the community but it did state" seniority from front to back " ....nothing surprizes me anymore from 10C as good as they are some things you just have to shake you're head at ....

+1. In regards to what some people above me have said, I don't want a refund. I just don't think it's too much to ask to have the terms for something I purchased remain constant, or to be notified if they change. It would take them about a minute and a half to have Santos or another employee make a sticky, notifying us all that plans have changed, they have decided to use the lottery system for the Toronto and Chicago shows.

Did anybody think it was supposed to be a surprise. Maybe it kinda slipped their minds and decided later that they thought it would be a nice surprise to not tell anybody.

I thought the original announcement was pretty clear, but apparently not. Why were people emailing ??s about the lotto for the Chicago and TO shows if it was apparent from the announcement?

If the presence of the lottery would have made you not buy tickets, keep bitching, if not, live and let live.

I'm not trying to be a dick here Dewie but let's say your membership number is 222XXX. Let's say Ten Club took 200000 - 300000 and had a lottery with those tix and ticketmaster seats - not telling you ahead of time, no problem?

Again not trying to be a dick and I see that the random rows are here to stay. But when I saw that TO and Chicago did not have them in the announcement I got a little excited that my lower number would be beneficial especially in TO. Still will be there and having fun as who knows, maybe I'll win the lottery, just wishing this was all upfront. (Coming from a person who got screwed at Grand Rapids).

    Peace

Well the first part of your statement is so far outta this world, it's not even a legit comparison. Why would tm tix be a part of a fanclub lottery?

Am I missing something? Aren't they basically putting all the 10c numbers for the show in a hat and drawing out numbers to fill rows 1,2,9, 10 , with the rest goin by seniority?

If I had a decent number, I would have seen them 15-20x from up close and would have no problem movin back a few rows. I've been to 35 shows(6 by PJ) and the last thing to take away from my enjoyment of a show is how close to the stage I am. I admit, I've paid extra for good seats at the Fox in St Lou in 04, but all tix were pricy so I decided to splurge, just a bit, and get to see them from closer than I'll ever get to see them again, but now maybe not.

Yeah I admit it's a far out scenario. I'm just saying if you purchase anything and get something less you're disappointed, that's all. Again I may win the lottery, who knows. I've had great seats and I've had shit seats that's neither here nor there. I do NOT have a problem with the lottery per se. Just let us know before tickets are sold, that's it...Not wanting anything more than that.

This thread should be deleted now :)

Either way, based on how fast tix for this recent round of dates are selling out, its clear that Chicago is going to have a HUGE fan club attendance (tix were available days after the onsale). These are going to be special shows. As far as the lottery, the chances of winning are that much slimmer with this many fan clubbers in attendance.

    just the opposite
Maybe some like me thought a minute or two about NOT buying Chicago cause of their high #'s and the great fan club turn out expected (like toronto 05)
but then like every good faithful fan I thought what the hell- I'll be in the house and thats all that really matters-
I wonder if thats how the people with the low #'s feel- its just good to be in the house or do they have to inter act with the band to really enjoy

I've seen it both ways. I've seen low number fans who look bored and I've seen higher number fans who want to talk during the show....Just as the argument "having a low number doesn't make you a bigger fan" well it certainly doesn't make you "less" of a fan either :)

Toronto as always will be rockin! Same as Chicago!

All behind your back, D ;)
A few of us sent emails to 10C, one of us even called.. in any case, we have numerous confirmations that this will be on at the Toronto/Chicago shows, as well as that the lottery will be the norm from here on in.

I bought based on this being by senority as the email stated. Changing the rules after getting people's cash is low and not something I would expect from Ten Club. I've been a member since 1992. This is how people are treated?

So does this 1-2 and 9-10 thing mean if I'm normally row 2 I will be in 9 or 10 or does it mean I'll be in 1 or 2?
