Is there a 10c lottery for rows 1-2 & 9-10 for the Toronto/Chicago shows?

There was no mention of a lottery in the original announcement for these shows like there was for the
current onsales. I didn't see what the purchase screen said when I bought the tickets as I was too busy
refreshing. Just curious if anybody knows what the deal is.

    no

Wasn't there a mention of no lottery in the orignal announcement, or at least an amendment to it?

My confirmation does not have that wording like it does for Seattle tickets. However, somebody posted yesterday, saying they asked the 10c if this is the norm for all the shows like Chicago and Toronto as well. And they said , "Yes, this is the norm." So, still a little vague. 2 conflicting stories. We'll see.

although the original info never mentioned a lottery, i emailed them yesterday about this because i had a feeling it would be a lottery for these 3 shows. heres the response i got:

    HI Tom,

1-2 and 9-10 are random. The rest will be seniority based.

    Best regards,
    10c

    2) Ten Club tickets are allocated by seniority. Seat location is not revealed until tickets are collected on the day of the show.

This is straight from my ticket confirmation email for 8/23

Would you mind posting the exact words from your e-mail to them?

I think this trumps that info..
My email to them about ten minutes ago:
    "Hi,
Someone recently reported emailing you guys about whether the lottery
will be the norm for future shows, and you guys responded that that
will be the case.. will the lottery be in effect for the
Toronto/Chicago shows as well? I know when they went on sale, there
was nothing mentioned about the lottery. On another note, any word
about opening band for these shows?
    Regards,
    Ben"

    Their response:

    "Hi Ben,

Yes the lottery will be in place for Toronto and Chicago. Sorry, currently
    we have no openers confirmed.

    Best,
    10c"

    Hi,
Ive tried searching for a definitive answer, but did not find one. Are the Chicago shows going to have rows 1&2 and 9&10 random, or will it be strictly seniority based? I dont believe when Chicago and Toronto went onsale it mentioned anything about random, but I could be wrong.
    Thanks for your help,
    Tom

EDIT: oops, guess im late in showing my original email. lottery it is.

It didn't mention anything about the lottery, no. But check out my post about three posts above you. Seems like there WILL be a lottery. That said, I wish I didn't know that... it'd be too cool to watch the winners, not knowing the lottery was even happening, receive their tickets and get damn excited!

Yeah, thats a nice little surprise since I have a rather shitty 10c number. I have some hope of sitting up real close. What a treat that would be.

wow, looks like there will be a lottery.

As much as I am one of the many who a lottery benefits, I don't think it is right to have a lottery for these 3 shows after the on sale announcements made no mention of a lottery.

I'm in the same position - going with my own 10C number (357xxx) to the Toronto show, but I don't think it's right for them to arbitrarily change the rules, without even telling anyone who didn't ask.

It woulda been, but it wass probably let out now to help spread out the bitching about it that is eminent, from the old schoolers. I can kinda see where they come from with it though.

yeah i shouldve used the quote button. that was my email to 10c yesterday, per beer barons request. sorry about that.

that being said, im always on the fence about whether or not i prefer the lottery. i have a pretty good # (129XXX), and it usually just ends up pushing me back 4 rows (5 shows in 2008 and no lottery win). but i still think its a pretty cool idea, and i guess it gives me that hope while walking up to the ticket window. plus, it gets some new blood right up front every night

I'm going to agree... the lottery is OK, but it sucks when they change it after the fact. The friend I'm going with could have bought their own fan club tickets and we could have had a better shot at better seats.

Oh well... what do you really expect?

I agree 100% with what you said. I am a supporter of the lottery. In fact, I benefited from it in '08 and ended up 2nd row at MSG through my girlfriend's 10C number (which is in the 400xxx range). It was an amazing experience.

But, those tickets were sold to us with no mention of a lottery and thus there should be no lottery for those 3 shows IMO.

Who knows - if it really is entirely random, your number shouldn't affect your odds of winning the lottery.

I'm happy to hear the latest news that there will be a lottery bcuz in the original announcement it said this for the Toronto Show:

Ten Club tickets are for reserved seating and will be allocated by seniority. Seat locations will be reserved from the 1st row on the floor, extending back, and the side sections closest to the stage. The longer you have been in the fan club, the closer your seats will be to the stage. Newer members should not expect prime seat locations. Proximity to the stage is contingent on the amount of members in attendance.
