Let me explain something
We pay 140 $ for the deluxe + 50 $ international shipping
then ups arrived and charged again 60 $
Grand total : 250 $ thanks tenclub in other shops, price is 147 $ and shipping is free for exemple here :

there are the same item 103 $ more for the tenclub ? Ouahhhhhhhhhhhhh
people who knew that, try to cancelled commands, but tenclub don't want, this is not crisis for everyone it's seems, or mayybe the tenclub is a special country and they have not the same rate change ?
I am waitin for my deluxe in switzerland I m obliged to pay now, no way to go back
At what point have you all tried to cancel the Super deluxe set from Ten Club? I mailed them yesterday but no answer during the night here in Europe and day in the US. The package was in Germany yesterday and I live in Finland so UPS could just take it back to Ten Club. Wouldn't they want to cancel it before it was shipped?
Is there an English version of that french site?Stockholm - 07/07/20120 -

To the OP, sorry to hear about the extra $$$. I would definitely check with your local tax authority and UPS to see if there was some kind of an error. I know that in Canada, we still had to pay GST and provincial sales tax (if applicable) on the total.
Sorry, I wasn't castigating you or anything, just passing on info. Peace :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P many smilies for you :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

This is reallly ridiculous!! On ebay you can get the damned thing for 139€ !
Wasn´t lucky enough to get a signed one ...that would have been worth the ectra 110$ that i paid fpr shipping and Tax!
I already ordered a few times from ten club and i never had to pay taxes so far ...
Does anybody know, why now?
i had to pay customs once when 10c order was 100$. if your order has a certain value, you have to pay taxes. but sometimes you are lucky and the guys at customs don´t look at it. could you pay by ec or credit card or does it have to be cash?0 -
jmk wrote:I've been in contact with UPS here in Finland and I have to pay 11,50 € to UPS, which they want for the work to clear it out of the customs and the paperwork it includes. I've understood that Ten Club put the value to 100 US dollars, and the Value added tax in Finland is 22% so thats 22 USD = 16 euros (Eur/Usd exchange rate of today: 1,36) (The US dollar is falling fast and, this may be the steepest fall of the US dollar in a quarter of a century).
We don't have to pay custom fees for products under 150 euros and VAT only if the amount is over 10 euros, so if Ten Club would put a value of max 45 euros (let's say 55 USD if the dollar strengthens again) I wouldn't have to pay VAT, either.
Looks like the extra fees for me is approximately 27,50 euros and as I paid 133,25 euros in December the total will be 160,75 euros.
So depending on your country's Value added tax, custom regulations and UPS policies, these extra fees gets added.
If you check http://www.amazon.co.uk you see that it may have been wiser for us Europeans to buy the Super deluxe set there. In the EU they are responsible for that the VAT gets paid to the country the buyer lives in and they put the VAT's to the product which you can see when you check out, before placing the order. The marketplace stores located in Great Britain don't add that VAT, so I can't say how the Super Deluxe set would be handled at the customs of some EU country if you bought it there.
I understand that Ten Club can't be judged for the VAT's we have but as we paid 50 US dollars for shipping I think they should have chosen a delivery deal were no extra fees, that must be paid to UPS, will be added. I'm sure UPS has some contracts of that kind, were this brokerage fee or whatever it's called, will be billed to the sender of the package.
you see in hindsight this would be what i would have done with all three of mine. But when there is a listing suggesting some will be signed, ten club obviously worked out how to grab our attention and stop us doing so. Jeff gave away picks in random orders.....worked out in the end almost everyone got one, a good 80% of orders, so I think people applied that logic here and are being royally shafted for it. Is it tenclubs fault? I'm not so sure, but it will make a great many think very carefully before being caught out again.....0 -

Is that shipping free all over Europe? The site doesn't seem to be having an English version?Stockholm - 07/07/20120 -
Just had a call from my Dad who's very kindly been waiting at my house for it - £32 customs charge to pay, only accepts cash or cheques (and doesn't carry a float either!). Luckily had a bit of cash lying around, not too happy about it though, I'm all for supporting 10C and paying for products direct but I could have got it from Play.com for £99 inc. shipping rather than the £163 ($236) I ended up paying!0

This is true. In the UK I think if the customs label states value over about £35 you have to pay a customs charge. Last time I bought a hoodie and T shirt from the 10C I had to pay an extra £10 I think. The nice guy at the post office told me, if I order a lot of stuff from the same people to email them and ask them to put a low or nil value on the customs label for future orders.......I did contact the 10C to ask them but didn't get a response......I suppose technically it would be breaking the law to do this??
I ended up ordering my set from Amazon in the end - only because I thought it would be the usual 6-8 week wait for it from 10C....its a shame its turned out like this - I hope at least some of you get a signed copy :(2006 - Dublin, Reading; 2007 - London, Copenhagen; 2008 - MSG; 2009 - SBE, Manchester, London; 2010 - Dublin, Belfast, London; 2012 - Manchester, Berlin; 2014 - Amsterdam, Milton Keynes; 2018 - London; 2022 - London; 2024 - Manchester0 -
I have just been on the phone to UPS, and they told me how the charges are added.
£11 for admin fee.
£21.25 for VAT.
When I asked how VAT can be that much on an item only worth $100 so it should be $15 I was told that because 10c didn't state how much we paid for shipping customs make the amount up and have figured it out to be £64!!!
I have asked for them to send me a claim for so I can prove to them that that is not the case and can get some of the money refunded.
I was also told that 10c new how much we would be charged as they are informed when sorting the shipping out and by rights they should have had to made us aware of this but they chose not to.Astoria 20/04/06, Leeds 25/08/06, Prague 22/09/06, Wembley 18/06/07,

Well it says mine has been delivered so I'm guessing some kind person at my house handed over the cash.
That's unreal that they would calculate the shipping at that much surfy. Surely they could have contacted 10c for the amount rather than guess at it. I'd allowed for VAT on the amount of the boxset and read in the Canada thread that expedited meant no brokerage fees so wasn't expected to get stung for that much.
I had thought about cancelling my order when I saw what it was being sold for on Amazon but decided not to bother ... regretting it a little now :shock:So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0 -

a pay only forum, huge shipping fees, supporting comic drawing blokes... the hits just keep coming. :(oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

I was thinking of doing that too.
Was thinking though that the only way I can prove I was overcharged for shipping is to show my order history from here which well then show 10c didn't put the true value as the declared value so not sure what other way you could show that shipping wasn't £64 but closer to £35 :? ... which would get me back £5???
May be more hassle than it's worth. Just annoying to know if 10c had told them the shipping cost we could have saved a few ££ and also the £11 brokerage is :evil:Post edited by chime onSo are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0
