Definitely. Seems like an all-around good dude that would go over great in this city, but I want to win again and again and again and again....0 -

I don't care about after the All-Star break. 2 seasons ago he did the exact opposite - cold in the first half and hot in the second half. Numbers overall - don't ignore them.0 -

True, batting over .260 twice in 9 seasons is worth 12-14 million nowadays.
He's a good player who is the second worst left fielder in baseball defensively. He is not worth anything more than a two year deal or else he becomes a blackhole on your payroll. He already is a 7 inning player at age 31. What will he be like in year 3 and 4 of a four year contract?
If he signs for two years for 20-22 million, I could live with that. Anything more is a mistake.- Busted down the pretext

I would just wait until the winter meetings and arbitration hearings in January and wait till some team doesn't offer arbitration on an OFer and pick up someone then. That's how we got Werth and Durbin. Or scour the waiver wires when a team tries to sneak someone off their 40 man which is how we got Dobbs.- Busted down the pretext

Mind you that Werth and Dobbs were gems because of Gillick's experience with Seattle when it comes to Dobbs, and he drafted Werth in Baltimore. So the thing is I think Pat had a really good outlook on these two guys. And I don't know if that's what Gillick's gonna be doing from his home in Seattle.0 -
So...why is no one talking Mussina in the offseason? is he retiring? He's from PA..maybe a Jamie Moyer-esque return to home to win?

Our rotation is Hamels, Myers, Moyer(hopefully), Blanton, Happ/Kendrick/Corrasco - where does he fit in? Good player and all, but let's get real. I don't wanna be the Yankees and try and sign every big name out there. Remember that's what makes us human beings - not being Yankee fans.0 -
