The 2008 Dallas Cowboys road to the Super Bowl....

Bubba wrote:It was a lot to give up but considering they probably would have been drafting 20th or higher next year and going after a WR, instead of getting someone who can't contribute right away they got a proven player who, with Detroit's crappy team, made the Pro Bowl in 2006.
Now if they can just get through these next 4 weeks it should be interesting. Thank God the Browns took out the Giants last night, otherwise there was no shot we'd catch them....even if now the chance is slim, it's still there.
As for Punkman Jones, Jerry already dismissed the bodyguards so Punkman is on his own....they tried to help him and he still screwed up so now if he wants to come back, he is actually going to have to help himself......ESPN's Ed Werder thinks Jerry and the Cowboys are done with him.
put me on that list6/11/08 WPB

The Cowboys are not as bad off as everyone thinks as far as 2009 draft picks go. They still have 9:
ROUND ONE (0)
To Detroit for Roy Williams
ROUND TWO (1)
Dallas Pick
ROUND THREE (1)
Pick To Detroit for Roy Williams
Pick from Cleveland (Acquired in 2008 Draft Day trade: for Detroit 2008 R4 pick)
ROUND FOUR (2)
Dallas Pick
Pick from Detroit (Acquired in 2008 Draft Day trade: for Dallas 2008 R3 pick)
ROUND 5 (2)
Dallas Pick
Pick from Tennessee (As a result of Adam Jones 2nd suspension)
ROUND 6 (1)
Pick To Detroit for Roy Williams (Tennessee contingency cancelled as a result of Adam Jones 2nd suspension)
Pick from Miami (Acquired in 2008 Ferguson Trade)
ROUND 7 (2)
Dallas Pick
Pick from Detroit (Acquired in Roy Williams trade)
Plus we should get conditional picks because of Julius Jones and Jaques Reeves. I think this deal for Roy was a no-brainer. We don't need that many rookies next year. Roy is only 27. And Dallas signed him to a 5 year deal.DAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13

not worried about the picks at all, especially after I read that article on the 'Boys website. looks who we got in return! instead of risking a 1st round pick on a receiver, then waiting for him to get accustomed to the NFL to THEN see if he's gonna be a bust or not, we get a young, proven receiver.6/11/08 WPB

and why's that? T.O. was the first to call Williams after hearing the news about the trade. T.O. loves it. you clearly hate it.6/11/08 WPB

he's also bipoloar. as soon as he starts getting even less passes thrown his way, he'll implode...just like this whole team is due to in a relatively short amount of time.

and he was on cloud nine in philly with mcnabb. owens (i refuse to call him by his self imposed nickname) will implode, i have no doubt in my mind. only thing is, when will it happen? this season? probably not. next season? most likely."Have you ever.........pooped a balloon?"

1996! WOW.
yep. which, if I'm correct, makes no difference in terms of trophies if you don't win it all. so, while you made the playoffs and always came up short, we were getting higher draft picks to help create the team we have today.
congrats on your NFC East division winner hats and NFC Conference trophy.
and I don't think we'll need 45 points a game, 41 seems like enough for some teams.6/11/08 WPB

Been hearing "TO is going to implode next season" every season since he came to Dallas.0 -

true, but can you honestly say that the probability of that happening didn't just increase?"Have you ever.........pooped a balloon?"

I doubt we will be seeing that much double coverage with him, Witten, Williams all running around so I say it improves his chances of getting the ball more oftenIf a man speaks in a forest and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?0

he looked pretty pissed that last game but it was understandable. Even if it was only half about "the team" and half about himself, at least he gave a crap about what was going on.If a man speaks in a forest and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?0 -
They gave Williams $20 million guaranteed plus I am willing to bet the deal is worth more than T.O's..T.O will not stand for that neither will Drew Rosenhaus...prepare for a looooong off season Cowboys fans...as for T.O calling Williams it was probably to say "Welcome to the team but the ball is mine"Shows:

I would be too. That team had no fire at all on Sunday.
Everyone needs to remember we had another pretty good receiver who used to walk up and down the sidelines screaming at people. He wound up in the Hall of Fame.DAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13
