I hate this team. I hate them.

I know, I know. We are not out of it yet. But it would have went a long way toward locking up a wild card slot.

Giving up 17 points in 7 minutes? Not going to get it done. I cannot believe Dallas DOMINATED this game until 7 minutes to go (defensively anyway).

Nice pick there Romo. And that had to be Witten's worst game as a Cowboy. He wasn't even looking on that last play which would have been a sure first down.

I don't know guys. I just don't know what to think at this point.

By the way, LOVING the banter in this thread right now. All of you crack me up.

Better to lose out of conference than next week or the last week if they were going to lose one of the last 4, this or the Baltimore game was the one to lose. They win out, they're in, it's that simple. They had that game won today. That fumble on the punt I think really hurt them as well.

One more thing, and I get tired of saying this every week, way too many penalties. A coulple to keep the drive alive on the Steeler's TD drive. We have to be the most penalized team in the NFL. I don't know if that is true but it sure feels like it.

Romo's INT for a TD was because Witten feel down on the route. Ugh.

I don't know why FLagg but I like this team way better than last years. We actually have three guys who can cover. Ok so one ball over Newman's head essentially cost us the game, but when was the last time that happened. AND a sober Pacman means that he'll be good for the next few weeks until he f's us in the offseason. We HAVE to win out to get in, so that means no coasting to the playoffs...if we lose, so be it. Roy Williams is solid for this team, he may not get catches but his blocking is sick, and TO has always been good at that. Witten SUCKED ass so bad today, he should have been out. He didn't block the LB a bunch of times which would have helped us run out the clock and take the win.

Either way the wind was a huge thing is this game...the score was 27-3 going with the wind, and when we didn't get the third possession to put the game away b/c of that stupid bomb pass on 3rd and 17 then it really hurt us. We had some luck go our way, and but NEVER had field position. The one time we did, the Steelers kicked a 30 yard punt that hit our dude on the 32 and they recovered. You are right though great teams win this game, and if this team is to be great they have to start winning these one's going down the stretch. BTW, if you check into last year, I have not been this positive about a Cowboys team vs. everyone else (including the league's best team) as I have about this team.

If the G-Men have no Jacobs/Plax, and our D gets pressure on Eli we should have a good shot next week.

Oh, yeah. The D plays like it did for 3 quarters today, then we definitely have a shot against the Giants.

he's a happy guy...leave him alone ;). Would you rather play for him, red face, the rookie, or the heroin salesman? Haha we have quite a collection in the NFC East.

Will he be a coach willing to install the wildcat when we have Michael Vick, and then open it up when we get Plax in 2011? As a Brewer fan there is a sick sense of satisfaction that I get knowing that no player is off limits to my favorite football team. BTW if you want to call me a bandwagon the Brewers are the place to go...I only rooted for them because they were my first World Series.

Haha...I can't stand "red face"....I wish someone would run him over just once...and yeah, atleast Wade doesnt come into every press conference and give the old "this one's on me....I need to do a better job getting the team prepared...."song and dance.

Now don't take that as me wishing Wade would stay...I might get rid of him and both coordinators after this season.....Cowher would be nice but I don't see it happening nor do i see his system fitting this team. I guess it depends on who his offensive coordinator would be though.

yeah i am not sure if i like him or not...same with the coordinators, but what do you do with this team? They are silly good at a lot of positions, but don't seem to always work well when things go wrong.

The thing that sucks is that we would have won today with Felix Jones and Tashard Choice (who was pretty good and demonstrates how little a running back has to do with his stats and how much his O-Line has to do with it), but not just Choice. AHHHH...why did he hurt himself?
  • BubbaBirchBubbaBirch Posts: 1,977
Haha...I know.....Felix woulda been nice to have these past few games. He is gonna be great if he stays healthy. Cowher would be ok if they opened up the offense and became a little more imaginative with their play calling. But he is more of a "smash-mouth" guy, which would be good but then you won't use TO, Roy or Witten the way they should be. Defense, I can't tell you how annoyed I get seeing the 10 yard cushion at the line of scrimmage. He would definitely help the D but the D has been much better since Wade started helping out more.

seriously he has...it was after the giants game, which was like our JV defense since there was no Henry, Newman, or Jones at CB that he took over a lot of the work on defense and look how we've been doing.

That Steelers D is incredible too.

Dallas had that one slip-up (literally, Newman stumbled) on that long pass on 3rd and 16 to Santonio Holmes but followed up with the goalline stand.

And then came the dreaded weekly special teams meltdown. The 35 yard punt return turned the whole game around.

Dallas D plays like it did yesterday (without the offsides, etc.) and Romo has a normal game, then the Cowboys beat the Giants next week.

eskin is a huge miami fan (which makes him a fraud in college football coincidentally) and i do remember him liking jimmy johnson. but he wasnt a fan of the team. i was a huge randall cunningfan growing up, i am actually wearing his jersey right now. i was still a fan of his when he was on the cowboys but it didnt mean i was a cowboys fan by any stretch of the imagination.

Not that it really matters, but Bubba is right. I used to listen to 610 24/7 in the late 80's early 90's - actually right until Grunge broke through and then I started listening to PJ and Nirvana all the time. And during the Buddy Ryan/ Kotite era vs. the Jimmy Johnson era - Eskin was a Cowboys fan. He still hangs up on people whenever they mention that on his show.

I vote that this thread should be closed. But for something really funny, go back and read the first post knowing that in the end a 44-6 drubbing by the Philadelphia Eagles was the knock-out punch for the Cowboys and their "easy" road to the Super Bowl.

    Go Eagles!!!
    Rock on!

He is getting to the point where his age and his declining ability no longer make him worth putting up with his attitude.

Is declining ability a catch phrase for "too many dropped balls"?
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
