Wakefield was bound to cool off eventually, right? The bats will be alive and ready tomorrow night.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

The bats may be alive but will Tavarez's arm be? :D Hopefully for the Tigs, Maroth will continue his good start.

Man, good series going between the Sox and Tigers! Pretty much expected it to go this way so far. The Tigers are pretty good knuckleball hitters. The next two games should be pretty entertaining.
I'm rooting for your team right now! Go Tigers! :) I need to see Boston cool off for a minute :)

2 Good teams. Considering Tavarez goes tonight I'd be happy with a split.

Haha, i agree. Durbin vs. Schilling will be a bit tough for the Tigers although the they've done fairly well in Durbin's starts.

The pride of Goochland County. Yeah, he was on last night. was hoping we could at least get into the pen. Too many strikes for that.

Well, Verlander didn't win the ROY for nothing last year :D The guy was also an outside Cy Young candidate. Definetely a key to the Tigers' rotation. What's scary is that his curve is still a work in progress. His fastball/change combo is devastating though. 102 then the next pitch its 79!! I just hope his young arm holds up. They did a pretty good job last year of monitoring his pitches.

Getting to the Tigers' pen is key. It was 5x better last year. Losing Jamie Walker to the O's and Zumaya to injury has taken its toll a bit. It doesn't help that Rodney has had a less than perfect start. That guy really really makes me nervous (especially when he's fielding the ball ) Bobby Seay has stepped up huge though. Barring further injuries the pitching staff in general should be looking pretty good come late july/early august.

Btw, pretty impressive stuff out of dice-k the other night. the guy is going to have a pretty good career.

P.S. how did red sox nation take Leyland's dice-k comments? He wasn't bashing the guy, he actually was complementing him. Just sick of hearing about him all the time.

Pretty much everyone here knows that Leyland is a salty dog. They were happy with his comments post-game.

Interesting article/video interview by Bob Ryan here:
    http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2007/04/20/start_of_something_too_big/

Basically he says that the Boston fans are starting to ruin this rivalry and starting to take away from it in his mind.

I would throw a parade if Bob Ryan, Dan Shaugnessy and the entire Big Show died in a horrific plane crash

    Boston media sucks dickshoe

I don't wish death upon anyone, but yeah, Bob Ryan and Shaugnessy are two of the biggest douches. I met Shaugnessy at a Holy Cross basketball game one time, and he is in person how he is in the media- a dickwad.

Greg Dickerson is another Boston media retard. I cannot stand this idiot. Gary Tanguay isnt bad, but he is guilty by association.

    FSN New England...what a joke.
