Well if they're not into you and don't wanna dance, what SHOULD they do? Keep talking to you and lead you on?ACCBootlegGoddess wrote:Oh I know that. Its the WAY they turn me down. I understand the whole nto wanting to look stupid part. Its when they are abrupt then ignore you for the rest of the night after that I'm getting at.

I think this is the case when you are obviously the only one with these feelings. If you sense he doesn't want to date you, back off. He most likely won't change his mind.GreenTeaDisease wrote:that's exactly what I'm saying- you become "that crazy girl who likes me."
I have asked men out and it worked out nicely. I am pretty good at taking hints when I am only wanted as a friend. lol Then I retreat quickly.
Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away0 -

No of course not. Its like when you ask a girl out. She can turn you down politely or she can be abrupt and rude about it....which would you prefer??
My point was that most guys I like, don't like me back...and the dancing example is showing that I have it in me to take the lead and ask a guy out if need be, and showing another example of how we get labelled that crazy chick who likes me."Rock and roll is something that can't be quantified, sometimes it's not even something you hear, but FEEL!" - Bob Lefsetz0 -

well that's obvious, because if the feelings were both ways then they wouldn't have turned you down in the first place, and you're not going to ask someone out unless you think they are interested. I think the point that ACC and I are trying to make is even if you misread their interest and they turn you down, why do they have to make such a big deal out of it. What we're saying is that guys think that if a girl they don't like accidentally asks them out she's a nutso stalker.0 -

I'd prefer polite, but I'm not seeing where the crazy label is coming from. How does not paying attention to you for the rest of the night = thinking you're a crazy girl?0 -
That is a broad generalization. Only a small (very small) percentage of men are going to think a woman is a crazy stalker if they ask him out.GreenTeaDisease wrote:well that's obvious, because if the feelings were both ways then they wouldn't have turned you down in the first place, and you're not going to ask someone out unless you think they are interested. Actually now that I think of it, this is the first time I've ever heard it considered as such. Usually a crazy stalker woman is, you know, a crazy stalker who calls constantly or hides in the bushes to see what you're doing type thing. I'm going way off track but you get the idea.0 -

i think it's wide spread enough to make people not want to risk it though, at least with people they see on a regular basis. you can never go back.
I think girls do this too but perhaps to a lesser extent.0 -
Honestly I have never heard of this from a male perspective in this type of scenario.GreenTeaDisease wrote:i think it's wide spread enough to make people not want to risk it though, at least with people they see on a regular basis. you can never go back.

I think it stems from a deeper feeling that girls are supposed to know if they're attractive enough to get a date and if they don't realize they're not attractive enough then they are crazy. and also that girls "like" guys too much- ie they "fall in love in too easily and get hurt." Like having a mild interest in a guy and asking him out to the guy says that you are in love with him.0 -
There may also be some confusion in that a lot of guys handle rejecting almost as badly or worse than they do rejection.GreenTeaDisease wrote:I think it stems from a deeper feeling that girls are supposed to know if they're attractive enough to get a date and if they don't realize they're not attractive enough then they are crazy. and also that girls "like" guys too much- ie they "fall in love in too easily and get hurt."
I disagree with your take on guys thinking girls are crazy to such a high degree, but generally women do seem to be more easily hurt emotionally than men.0 -

I'm sure there's still plenty of VD to go around! It's never too late!!! If all else fails, try Craigslist!"The leads are weak!"

joke overload *kaboom*oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0

No, I don't go for those online gigs. My sister did that one summer, and she said all the guys were looney. And one of her guy friends did it and he said the girls were all psycho. My sister strongly advised to never go for that.0 -
