just finished 'How To Nailgun A Fat Bastard in the Face' by Joseph Sciamottioh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0

I'm about to go buy "Singled Out" by Bella DePaulo. It's about how single people are screwed by the government and by the population in general. it looks pretty good.

And I don't feel right when you're gone away0 -
this book "singled out" is absolutely amazing. I stayed up until 3 last night reading it, got up at 9 and read for 3 more hours. the only problems with these types of books though, is that I'm sure it's just preaching to the choir. that always frustrates me.0

One Stick Song, Poetry, 2000, Sherman Alexie. One of Americas best novelists. If your looking for something new to read I suggest buying one of his books.0

That was the first book I ever read by Krakauer. I could've cared less about mountain climbing, but his writing is so good that I couldn't put it down.
Also, Under the Banner of Heaven is a MUST READ!! It sparked my now obsession with polygamy and FLDS.This is the greatest band in the world -- Ben Harper0 -
Eric Clapton's biography...it's not bad...be philanthropic0

Banner of Heaven is great!! So truly bizarre.
I just finished Love in the time of Cholera. A friend had given it to me and while I did enjoy it I think I would almost need to read it again.
I think I will go onto the new Rick Mercer or Kathy Reichs book.. unless I reread some Marian Keyes.0 -

yea, she is not an outdoorsy person and could care less about it also.
but she was pretty touched with the whole part about the asian woman. i didn't read it but she told me a bit about it.
Esther's here and she's sick?
hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks0 -
Heineken Helen wrote:OOOOoooohhh... please tell her that 'the climb' is a MUST read for anyone who enjoyed into thin air... it tells the same story from another point of view and kinda is living proof of how opinion and fact really can't be intertwined. It's all simply fascinating. And if she's into the mountain climbing stuff (and even if she's not but if she enjoyed into thin air), 'touching the void' by Joe Simpson is MUCH MUCH better than into thin air. It's a brilliant book (and if you don't wanna tell her... there's a couple of christmas pressie tips for ya
)
thanks Helen.
i'll have to look these up on Amazon. sounds like she might really enjoy these.
