Anyone else hoping for less politics this tour??

I hope he rants on and on about the important issues we face, I love to see people get fired up about things instead of just shrugging. But I would prefer
to not have him push his preferred candidate on everyone...and I feel he probably won't because I don't remember him praising Kerry too much in 04.If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

its part of the show experience, it wouldn't be the same if Ed didn't go on a political rant, "poetic license", and he's usually right!don't gimme no lip !0

Ya...and its obvious YOU will never change that. I love the political rants and even if only a few listen its more of a difference than you and your mama will ever make!0 -

I'd just like Eddie to talk about something else for a change. There's a million other subjects out there, and political rants just seem to put everyone in a negative mood.Stone Gossard...riffmeister extraordinaire!
I am a man, I am advanced.....I am the first man to borrow Stone's leather pants!0 -
angryyoungman wrote:i like how because people are rockstars they are not entitled to share opinions on issues. . .just go get your beer and shut up and enjoy the music then, you should be grateful for the intermission
Maybe I have stronger opinions than others, but I find it "hard to imagine" being someone in the spot light nationally/internationally and not wanting to bring up issues that I felt were important to future generations...
Even if it came out to the simplest..."GET YOUR ASS OUT AND VOTE!"0 -

Are you serious! Have you been to a show? he gets chatty on almost every subject out there.0 -

That's cool - its important that everyone votes no matter where you stand.
I also find it cool when he talks about local things because for some reason it makes me feel like he truly cares about the city the band is playing in.
I just get annoyed when he spends a lot of time going in the usual rants - I would rather an extra song or two... I'm not one of those 'shut up and play' people but at the same time if I want to go to a political roundtable I'd like to see that on the ticket0 -
At least that means the DC poster will be cool again. :rolleyes:NERDS!0

Got ya..but...have Eddies political "chats" been really that long? 5-10 minutes tops in a 2-3 hour show? How can that really take away from anything unless its largely just an opposing view a fan can't stand to hear?0 -

Well... they play what is on the setlist. You won't get extra songs if Ed talks less.0 -
