    Great Home Opener today. I haven't seen the game yet ... tivo'd it, but it looks like Beckett had another solid outing.

    If he can pitch like he did in Florida, it will be a great year for the Sox.

    I hope there is a similar score as today. That was an easy one to predict , seeing as Weaver suuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks. My guess was actually 10-1, so I was close.

    my husband tried hard to get tickets for either today or tomorrow with no luck. I am so glad to see the bats come alive today. Everybody looked great!

    Because this is where the Sox fans hang out from time to time here in the Pit. No need to start a new thread, this one works just fine. Just jump right to the end and things will be ok. That being said, the boys looked mighty good today in the home opener, 14-3 over the M's. Another very solid outing from Beckett. I hope this is a sign of things to come after a disappointing '06 season...

    Dice-K looked decent, not superb. On the other hand, Hernandez was nearly unhittable. This kid is the real deal. At 21 years of age (turned 21 on Sunday) he has some nasty stuff. Not too bad to start the season the way he has. In 2 starts he has allowed 4 hits and 0 earned runs (17 innings, 18 strikeouts, 4 BB, 1 CG shutout). Hopefully the Sox can get the bats to come alive tomorrow (if it doesn't snow)...

    The comeback last night was awesome. That being said, Arod is on a tear like I've never seen. He has been amazing. As long as we can pull out a win, I'm happy. Beckett has looked very sharp so let's hope that continues today. Game is on Fox at 4pm ET. Tomorrow night, Dice-K will get his first true feel of this rivalry.

    I can see where he's coming from but I don't agree. I think it adds to the fun and enjoyment of the games. I come from NC where the Carolina-Duke rivalry is about as heated as they come and I love all the trash talk. I loved the atmosphere when I went to a couple Sox-Yankees games at Fenway back in 2001. There is nothing like it. I wear my Yankees Suck t-shirts on a regular basis even now. I'm a Sox fan and I'm bred to hate the Yankees, plain and simple.

    This Matzusaka guy aint shit.....pitch inside to A-Rod does not mean plunk him in the back after an 8 pitch walk to Abreau and before a 2 run double. Boston paid this guy a rot a rot of money and so far he is a brust.
    Once in a while you can get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
