    You all can call bullshit but I firmly believe it's in our genes to want to stray. Even if we're with someone we love that's gorgeous and a tiger in the sack we're still always thinking about that next hot thing that caught our eye. With girls, not as much. I'm not saying we have to act on it but even the nice guys at least think about having sex with strange women. Daily.

    Well it truly is a double standard. I think a lot of men find comfort in the notion that women only fantasize about committed sex with their partner :rolleyes: It's all fun and games until she starts fantasizing about the hot neighbor. And thoughts and fantasies are just that - thoughts and fantasies. It doesn't matter what or who you think about - but what does matter is what you do. So I agree - rather than carrying them around and feeling all guilty and sneaky about it - why not share with your partner? It could equate to a whole lot of fun :D

    I read about some of this in unergrad. Like how some animals mate for life and are monogamous by nature and some aren't. It was studied many years ago... particularly in men.

    Has this phenomenon even been studied in women?

    Could it be something that has changed societally?
