  • I read them...I was talking about "people on this board"....If someone is depressed all the time then they have a serious problem!

Depression is a serious problem, whether it's cyclical or permanent.. doesn't matter.

Usually I kick out of it after a month or two...I actually got kinda scared for a bit.
I had a bout of about 6 months starting about March last year. I wouldn't say I'm depressed now though I have bad days. Weird thing is, there was a specific trigger for the 6 months and that trigger is no longer a big issue for me but I still have some pretty dark days/times. A couple of weeks ago I was inexplicably down and it was in some way related to the stuff from before but it wasn't prompted by anything other than getting drunk and thinking too much. It sucks because I never know when I'm going to feel like it. Thankfully it isn't often and it's never too serious.

I've worked out I've been depressed for 6 months to a year - sometimes 2, every 3-5 years of my life... The rest of the time I'm fine... weird?

    absolutely.

and if that's the case...if posting about it here alleviates some of it just a wee bit, gives them a place to vent......there it is. this IS the forum for it.

just like people who enjoy posting pics, bitching if their radar detector is broken, their love for dr. pepper...whatever. :p we all can post on topics of interest to us, and respond to topics of interest to us. if disinterested, then don't read/post eh? i think it's all been said often enough. it's our own CHOICE to read, or not...and to respond or not. sure, it's valid to make a complaint if one so choose about topic repetition, but yes, it's been done before too. ;)

Not everyone can help the way they feel. Live and let live.

    very true. :)

i think it holds true for MOST of us at some time or another. even feelings of happiness and elation, not always within our *control.*

what she said :) i know if i could control how i feel, i'd be happy all the time. sadly life doesn't let that happen sometimes. if venting helps folks, vent away!

actually, that ended for me april 16th. this week was DULL...dead...borrrriiinnnnnnggggggggggggggg. so really, i should've been elated for the break, but i guess it was post-season letdown? is there a tax season high? am *I* high for even thinking/typing that? :p hahaha.

    i need to drink more.
    :D

and on topic...no it's not depression........i think it's simply a brief stint of pissyness. hopefully it will be gone tomorrow with it being saturday. if not, it best be gone tomorrow night after a great meal, lots of alcohol and a really great shag. THAT's a great cure for short-term depression! at least for me. ;)

I know...especially when some of the same people complaining about thread content have played the old "just ignore my posts if you don't like them" card themselves once in a while. We all have different motivations for posting here, and there's no need to be critical of each other!

    hahaha, indeed.....YES!

and, EXACTLY. sure, sometimes you read the first page and see a theme or *mood*...and think wow, wtf? :p and sometimes it's not depression, but idiocy, or just bizarreness - my personal fave. ;) that said, it IS interesting how so often moods seem to brighten here with the changing of the seasons...and sure...tour announcements. coincidental? i think not. ;)

even me, a definite cold weather lover...i definitely get *brighter* with the longer/warmer days and hints of things to come that is SPRING!

this board definitely goes in cycles....and a lot of it linked to seasons/holidays...and the *pj cycle* of course. :D

White people are stupid sometimes. Sometimes you want to tell them, "No, I don't want to read your poem about your gf" or "No, I don't want to go to the Barack Obama rally in your Toyota Prius."

Or, "No, I don't want to read your stupid thread about how depressed you are. Go do something that makes you feel good about yourself and come back later."

I'm telling you. No self-respecting latin woman would ever post a thread like that. :D
