thanks chica and long rd...yeah i hope it passes soon. i miss being myself really. it probably would help to vent stuff here but i tend to do the opposite and keep to myself when i'm going thru a bad patch. ah well!
I was pretty fucking depressed between fall '07 to Feb '08 but never actually made a thread about my situation. I did reply to a few threads that were about the subject but that's about it. Didn't get overboard with it.
I don't see the help from a message board. Or maybe I'm just one of those who likes to keep things to one self and get through it alone...as I usually do!
yeah...I tend to only post when I'm feeling good about life. I guess that's the stuff I'm most comfortable expressing, or sharing. When I'm struggling with something I tend to either deal with it on my own or share it only with the very few people I trust most. Some people are more comfortable "putting it out there." Whatever works for them is fine with me.
ass threads on here lately? Seriously, I'm fine with some here and there and have even participated in one or two......but all the damn time?! What the fuck is wrong with some of you???
it's coming into the summer... things tend to cheer up then
The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"

Chicago 07? And love

Had I not found this love with you
I guess being depressed is more common then I thought!!
Did you honestly think it was rare??
You need to read some statistics girl.
'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'
She needs stats about as much as you need a blow job.
I've read two quite sarcastic posts from you today, aimed at me. It seems as if you, sir, need to get laid.. either way, stop it.

it SHOULDNT be. Maybe people just dont know how to get out of it. THAT is sadd.
i certainly wish it wasn't common.
i guess it's good though, if people find this place helpful in venting frustration or sadness, then they should go for it. maybe it would help my ass out, who knows lol

Some people can't get out of it. Others will but in time.

Ever read a novel and read the last chapter early? It ruins the novel so you don't do it again. Life is like a novel, but with everyone having read the last chapter, as that is the only chapter written. I guess the secert to happiness is not to read it more than once. I thinks I am too stoned.

Last fall mine lasted 5 months....the longest ever in my life!!! :(
Usually I kick out of it after a month or two...I actually got kinda scared for a bit.

Yeah I thought mine might stick around this time.. 5-6 months.. it didn't last longer, thank God.

Depression is a serious problem, whether it's cyclical or permanent.. doesn't matter.

I had a bout of about 6 months starting about March last year. I wouldn't say I'm depressed now though I have bad days. Weird thing is, there was a specific trigger for the 6 months and that trigger is no longer a big issue for me but I still have some pretty dark days/times. A couple of weeks ago I was inexplicably down and it was in some way related to the stuff from before but it wasn't prompted by anything other than getting drunk and thinking too much. It sucks because I never know when I'm going to feel like it. Thankfully it isn't often and it's never too serious.

I've worked out I've been depressed for 6 months to a year - sometimes 2, every 3-5 years of my life... The rest of the time I'm fine... weird?

I read them...I was talking about "people on this board"....If someone is depressed all the time then they have a serious problem!
absolutely.
and if that's the case...if posting about it here alleviates some of it just a wee bit, gives them a place to vent......there it is. this IS the forum for it.
just like people who enjoy posting pics, bitching if their radar detector is broken, their love for dr. pepper...whatever. we all can post on topics of interest to us, and respond to topics of interest to us. if disinterested, then don't read/post eh? i think it's all been said often enough. it's our own CHOICE to read, or not...and to respond or not. sure, it's valid to make a complaint if one so choose about topic repetition, but yes, it's been done before too.

very true.
i think it holds true for MOST of us at some time or another. even feelings of happiness and elation, not always within our *control.*
ride the wave where it takes meeeeeeeeee.......................
what she said i know if i could control how i feel, i'd be happy all the time. sadly life doesn't let that happen sometimes. if venting helps folks, vent away!

i mean shit, sometimes there are plenty of sludge threads on the first two pages of this forum, and/or others...and not a one is a 'depressing thread'...just not of interest to me. so be it, such is life!
it's like people bitching about long posts, or spelling errors, etc. we all have our pet peeves and all...but overall, fuck em! if it fits within the guidelines of the board, than stfu eh? make a new thread on a topic you DO like!
and right now i am just so happeeeeeeeeeeeee it's the weekend! b/c i HAVe been in a vwery pissy mood all week, still a bit evident at the moment too and fuck if i know why? hahaha.
