Sorry, I just don't like that writer/director, and I just didn't think the movie was funny at all. I hated Life Aquatic too. Had mixed feelings about the Royal Tenenbaums.
Oh, and as for the Blair Witch Project...I can see how people would think it sucked if you went to a regular movie theatre. I saw it at the drive in, sitting on top of my car (the drive in was surrounded by woods), and seeing the movie in that atmosphere freaked me out. But I will agree it's kinda cheesy.

Two each his own; love Wes Anderson's opuses. Life Aquatic is so brilliant.

    But specifically City of Angels.

If anyone has seen Wings of Desire by Wim Wenders, the german film from the early 80s that was RAPED by the makers of City of Angels, which is purportedly a remake, although the word rehash (or indeed regurgitation) covers it better, you'll know what I'm talking about :)

Oh, also Bad Lieutenant. That shit sucked. Interestingly enough they're making a remake with Nic Cage.

I had completely forgotten about this movie. It holds the distinction as the only movie I've walked out of in a theater. Granted, there are a ton of movies I wouldn't even attempt to see, and they may be worse. But this movie is the worst movie I've attempted to see. Completely horrible in all of the ways you mentioned.

He's also starring in a remake of The Lives of Others, which is only a couple of years old and won the Oscar for best foreign language film so christ knows why it needs to be remade. Not only that, he's playing the main role which was originally played by an actor who died just after release. Way to taint a legacy Cage

We had a discussion over dinner last night about this movie and the funny thing is no one remembers it until you SAY the name..its almost like the subconscious removes it!

They're not ? Are they really ? booo ... i hate it when they remake movies that dont need to be remade, like a few years back how rumors were flying that Micheal Bay was remaking the birds. You cant do anything to that movie to make it better. What is the point. Also they are now talking about remaking robocop. booo ....

Hey dude, Michael Bay is remaking the birds. He isn't directing, but it's his production company that are doing it. The same company that remade Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hitcher, and some other horror "updates too". God I hate Michael Bay.
And Robocop???? That movie is awesomely awesome. Why would anyone want to remake it. It's perfect the way it is. And the cast is so god. There's no way they can do it justice.
And seriously, the Lives of Others is still a new movie. and it's an Oscar Winner for good reason. Why must they continue to rape good movies instead of making original ones? WHY?????

because hollywood is fresh out of original ideas. hitchcock movies are already perfect, why remake them ?

I know. I try to tell myself that it's just a phase, but it's been an awfully long phase so far.
I think I'm going to watch the Usual Suspects to remind me of better times.

Yeah man I think I'm going to watch Rear Window or Strangers on a Train tonight to remind me at one point in time there was a director who made good original movies. I just went out and got Metropolis, Family Plot, Maltese Falcon, French Connection and On the Waterfront. Those are real movies.

to me it is. it was one of the only movies ive ever not finished watching because it was so terrible. and ill usually sit through any movie, no matter how bad.
actually, i think the only two movies i couldnt sit through were juno and going overboard(that crappy adam sandler movie)
