don't know if this has been posted but this is just fucked up. easily the most disturbing thing i have ever read that is true. straight out of a horror movie.

    Yes this is fucked up. Happened on a bus leaving Edmonton (3 hours South of here) for Manitoba.
    Not sure the exact details but they had a guy on tv talking about how he was sitting in front of where it happened. All of a sudden everyone heard this blood curtaling (poor sp.) scream and this "big guy" was stabbing this other guy sitting next to him (who was sleeping and listening to his IPOD). Guy in front (the interviewee) freaked and took off to the front of the bus. Essentially everyone got off and left this guy in there to finish what he was doing (cowards) and that is when he beheaded the kid, then brought the head to the front of the bus and showed everyone...at this time though they all had the bus door blocked and wouldnt let him out until the police arrived.

    EDIT: This guy also said though that the attacker pulled out this great big "rambo style" knife and started stabbing him like a robot so I dont know if I am accurate to call those people cowards and I take that back

    I feel the same way, D. I just think all those people and they just left the poor guy there??? To be fair by the sounds of it, it sounds unlikely that the victim lasted very long and them fleeing may have been the only real choice. I just don't know what to think.The level of violence is shocking... it so sad. So sad.

    Yeah I have a big problem with this sorta stuff. Everyone is too busy talking loudly on their mobiles or hiding under ipods and a book.

    2-3 average sized males should be able to subdue such a person knife or no knife.

    Six months ago I picked up an old fella on the bus who had fallen and knocked himself out. I came from the back corner and passed about 4 crowded seats to get to him. Not a fuckin soul moved and the guy was out for at least 10-15 seconds before I got to him.

    As I tried to lift his 100kg frame some little asian lady gave me a filthy look for putting my hand near her leg trying to stabilise ourselves. Not one person offered to help - they all just sat there and watched or hid behind their book.

    The words that came outta my mouth aimed at 15 or so individuals were nasty and I think I embarrassed a lot of people that day.

    Ive lost a lot of faith in todays society with that sorta stuff.

    To me is just common decency
    I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

    hard to say what you would have done if you were actually there. Everyone, myself included, likes to think they would have done something to prevent it, or stop it and save the guys life, but until you're actually in a situation like that (not that there are many situations like that) there's no way of knowing what you would do

    Generally it is but we have nuts and violence just like everywhere else... but I know you know that. I think Canada and Australia have quite a bit in common... we just have snow.

    It is such a tragic story.
