where the fuck did Quentin come from? guys a beast and I only picked him up on waivers like 2-3 months into the season..no one noticed..I did and took a chance and have lucked out like a MOFO..ranked no 3 in my league :)

Got him from the D-Backs for a single A prospect. He was actually projected very highly within their organization, for a time he was their #1 prospect over Justin Upton, Conor Jackson, Stephen Drew, Mark Reynolds, etc. Injuries derailed him the last few years, and the Sox jumped in and got an absolute steal. He has been playing outta his mind this year.
He floated back down 'cause he wanted to share, his key to the locks on the chains he saw everywhere.

I had a bad feeling about tonight's game going in. Dice-K shut em down couple a weeks ago, did it again tonight. Sticking with what I posted earlier, 2 outta 3 would be VERY nice.

not a bad deal. I had Conor Jackson and dropped him to pick up Aubrey Huff and also picked up Reynolds on waivers. I'm 1st in my leahue with Jeter as ss and an outfield that consists of Magglio, Ludwick, Ichiro, Nady and Quentin! :D

    and the Rays..

    That's just weird man...

The Twins need to beat teams like, uh, Seattle? :(

Damn Jenks, almost gave me a heart attack. This was a must win game imo, and they got it done. Way to go Gavin and Thome now tied for 14th on the all-time homer list. On to Cleveland.

  • Cliff Lee, very impressive. Even more impressive that he got his 20th win for a team that has 66 wins overall. That's 30% of the team's wins, wow.

  • I think the Twins and the White Sox are having a contest to see who can lose the AL central first.
    So this life is sacrifice...

Haha! That I can agree with.
  • ESPN 1000's baseball beat reporter Bruce Levine is reporting that White Sox slugger Carlos Quentin has a fracture in his right wrist and will undergo surgery Monday morning. No official word has come from the Sox as of yet, as the team is reviewing the results of an MRI Quentin took this morning. The Sox are not ruling out a possible return for the playoffs, though the outlook for Quentin playing again this season are slim to none at this point.

CHICAGO -- American League home run leader Carlos Quentin has a broken wrist, and the Chicago White Sox left fielder will have surgery Monday that could sideline him for the rest of the season.

Quentin was removed from the lineup before Tuesday's game because of what the White Sox described then as a sore right forearm, and he hasn't played since. The team said Friday that he was hurt during last Monday's game at Cleveland.

A screw will be inserted into the wrist, and he will be re-evaluated in two to three weeks. Quentin is batting .288 with 36 homers and 100 RBIs.

Quentin missed two games after he was hit on a forearm by Boston's Josh Beckett on Aug. 11. When Quentin returned Aug. 14 and was plunked by Kansas City's Kyle Davies, Quentin became the first player hit by a pitch in six straight games since at least 1920.

Quentin has been hit by pitches 20 times in all this year, the most in the American League.

Chicago said Quentin will be operated on by hand and wrist specialists, Dr. Mark Cohen and Dr. John Fernandez along with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Charles Bush-Joseph of Midwest Orthopedics at Rush University.

Absolutely devastating. And depressing. I really have nothing else to say.

Damn. That sucks. The rest of the guys are going to have to step it up a bit. There's plenty of other slugging talent left, but there's no more room left for slumps.
  • Twins have been bad lately, especially the backend of thier bullpen. Sox take 2 of 3 from the Halos, and I'll take that 8 days a week. Need 5 more wins on this homestand.

I would like to personally thank Carlos Quentin for slipping thru my fantasy draft and allowing me to pick him up in what was a great move towards my march to 1st place :D

  • The Sox magic number is now at 18. They have 10 home games and 10 away games left.

The Twins have 9 home games and 10 away games left.

The Sox currently have a 2.5 game lead.

I think it is fair to assume the Twins will go 4-6 on the road and 6-3 at home. Under that scenario the Sox could go 9-11 the rest of the way and still win the division. I like our chances.
