Hey GR, there's a GT3 Porsche Cup race (2 30 minute races I believe) on the track on Sunday the 8th. I believe it's included with the Grand Prix tix we have, but can't find definite information about it. The GT3 site just directs you to the F1 Grand Prix tix site...0

It's the same circuit, yup.
I don't know if it is before or after the race (the race is at 1:30 or something and the track is open at 7:30 am so who knows).0 -

Well if it makes sense to hang for an hour or so after the GP due to the crowds, then that might be a good call.0 -

We're in for a 2 km walk to the grandstands, by the way.0 -
ready for monaco?
Getting close to Montreal Rygar-VERY PSYCHED.0 -
I lover racing, but don't follow F1 after the Indy debacle several years ago.
My question is, was Juan Montoya going to get fired before he switched to Nascar??? I can't imagine anyone leaving a series in which you ride in the most sophisticated cars in the world (on road tracks!) to join the dull Nascar parade. Any insight would be appreciated.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -

Weather is looking damn fine!
I emailed the Puma store on Ste-Catherine's West and they have lots of ferrari gear (so they say).
Monaco will be semi-boring I think. 80% of the pack will be out on the first lap, and the last 6 cars will never make a pass unless someone is pitting...0 -

I dunno why JP left for Nascar...I don't think he was getting the can from Mclaren, but even if he was he could have got on with another team in F1 I would imagine.0 -

What Indy debacle?? How about the one when only six cars raced! It basically killed F1 in America and disgraced the most sacred race track in the world.
"The event was marred in 2005 when 14 of the 20 drivers pulled off the track just before the start over concerns about the safety of the Michelin tires used by seven teams. Afterward, Tony George (Speedway Owner) refused to wave the checkered flag or join Michael Schumacher in the winner's circle."
Sorry, not attacking you. It just pissed me off that the politics of F1 prevented a real race and basically killed F1 for the US. Also, Ferrari could have helped avoid this if they would have agreed to let them add a chicane at the strait-away. Hopefully the MotoGP bikes will take hold this fall.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -

You said Indy and I thought Indy.
Yeah that was horrible. At least Ferrari won
US is back in the schedule next year, I believe.0 -

Yeah, but you gotta love the street circuit!
I caught the practice this morning. Still a very cool circuit and setting.
Just pray for no rain and all will be well.
We gotta hook up at some point.0 -

We'll have to grab a beer after one of the events I think.0 -

Montoya said that he would have more fun in Nascar, less pressure. unlike F1.0 -
Get_Right wrote:I think he wanted to be famous in the US and thought that as a decent F1 driver he would do really well in NASCAR-which so far he is.
haha!
maybe.
