Soriano is returning tonight. He's almost as good as Felix Pie.

This is gaged on the 13 games he played in this year correct?

He is a career .280 hitter. His numbers will go up.

As a Cardinals fan, I cannot wait until the weekend series in St. Louis. The Cubs have had our number as of late, but it's the best rivalry in baseball.

I guess they are overrated since they only have the 3rd best record in baseball and should have the best.

I guess they are overrated since they have only scored 175 runs this year, 9 more than the 2nd most (AZ 165) and should probably be scoring more than that.

I guess they are overrated since they are batting .288 as a team only 9 points higher than the 2nd place team at .279

I guess the pitching is overrated since the team ERA of 3.96 is 11th in the Majors.

no... its just time to put Marmol in as the closer.

Howry as the setup man... he'll be good again this year he's just a slow starter.

Wood is a 7th inning guy or spot reliever.... but I still admire the guy.

Soriano needs to get on base once in awhile too...

just joking around with the Pie comment. Soriano does need to get a few hits though, maybe take a walk or two instead of striking out 30% of the time.

I want nothing more than to get in a big Cards-Cubs debate with He_Still_Stands...but I don't have it in me to debate anything with a myspace name that involves Turd Ferguson. Turd Ferguson. Funny name.

Should be a fun series this weekend.

I'm I the only one here who hates Soriano. I know he hit a big HR Friday but his two plays in the field were inexcusable. I liked ESPN's stats last night for each player on the various counts. Did you see Soriano is hitting .067 after an 0-1 count and 1 for 16 on 0-2 counts. Good thing he hardly ever takes any pitches. He's hitting well under .200 on the year. Good thing this arrgoant prick is only "comfortable" batting leadoff. $137 mil. poorly spent if you ask me.

I'm not a Cubs fan, but Soriano drives me damn crazy. That little "hop" he does in the outfield when he catches balls is retarded, and is also what I believe caused him to miss the second ball on Friday night. Then when he hits a batting practice cutter out of the park off of Izzy in the 9th he stares at it like he is some baseball God. Christ, Theriot would have put that ball out of the park.

As a Cardinal fan I am pleased w/ how the series went. I was really impressed with Fukudome, he seems to live up to the hype.

FINALLY, a win. I almost forgot what those are like. Great outing by Z. Did anyone else see Detroit designated Jaque Jones for assignment!! Haha!! How long before Dusty picks him up in Cinci?

Hahahahaha, I thought the exact same thing!! :D
  • Zambrano has started off fantastic this year, good for him.

Still worried that the Cubs can't beat the good teams yet, but it is still early.

As far as Soriano, this is the same shit we dealt with last year. Maybe not as bad, but he hit 270 with 0hr 1rbi last april. He still ended the season hitting 299 with 33hr. If I remember right, wasn't he player of the month in June? So while I completely disagree with Lou babying him and keeping him at leadoff, I do think eventually he'll get hot and help the club. I'd like to see Soriano and Fukudome flip spots in the lineup, the obp difference is huge, and setting the table for Lee and Aram would be huge.

  • looks like Gallagher just pitched his way into the rotation, Lieber back to the pen.

To be honest with you, I figured Marshall would be the next in the rotation but for some reason he got sent down when Eyre came back up.

Either way, very happy about the sweep and finally winning a series!
