Racism is alive and well in this age. It's not always the main factor in decisions and sometimes it's not a factor at all. The thing that it seems frustrates people the most is when race is always blamed for the reason that someone did or didn't do or get something. Playing the race card every time is lazy and ignorant, just as is not acknowledging that there are race problems. In my town we've had multiple incidents of random attacks on white people by a group of 4 or 5 black kids that are in their teens. You can bet that if I'm walking and see a group of black kids that I'm going to be more cautious esp if it's at night, not b/c it's racist but b/c the fact of the matter is kids of that demographic are jumping people. There are also incidents of the black community trying to put a stop to this. It would be great if we could get beyond race and beyond skin color and we could get along as people and for the most part I think we do. But it seems that whenever something happens with different races involved you get the media pundits and news sources bringing the race factor out and debating is race an issue.

I liked Roberts statement in the supreme court ruling "The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race" in re: to affirmative action.

No one wants to stop a discussion of race. I've had a lot of really good talks with people who think that race-based affirmative action has played itself out and should be replaced by an affirmative action that accounts more for socioeconomic factors -- a thought-provoking idea. But you? You actually seem to think that blacks are inferior to whites, and wow!! That's just shocking!

(Oh, and for the record, I believe you were the first to play the Hitler card. But you know, Hitler loved eugenics and supported a lot of "scientists" who claimed that there was a scientific basis for claims of racial difference and inferiority. So why don't we put Hitler away?)

I know you couldn't possibly understand that article enough to analyze it, but what it says is not all that new or that profound. Even a cursory glance helps one to determine that. Essentially he is claiming that race is a social construct; therefore, differences between "races" do not exist if race does not exist - that's really all he said and he didn't offer any better evidence for that claim that Rushton has. This has been addressed well by J. Phillipe Rushton. Race is not a social construct because you find similarities in societies based on their race, frequently. You find that Northern societies have consistently conquered Southern societies. You find that, based on longitude IQs vary but, based on latitude, they do not vary as much. Why?

Notice, that article is certainly not afraid to attribute medical issues to certain "races." They do that because it is not taboo to do so. But, is it so impossible to believe that certain races might have cognitive similarities too? They brush over the differences by pointing to discrimination as the cause of black IQs. Nevermind the fact that blacks have had 30 years of government assistance and public education (same as whites) to return to the average IQ.

You should, at the very least, read opposing viewpoints that are sponsored by organizations that don't have a pre-conceived bias (racial differences in IQ=BADD!!!!!). To ignore the place that race has held in the intelligence of various peoples is ignorant and injures races that could be helped by this information. History tells us that certain groups have indeed been more intelligent because of their racial background.

The writer is a physicist astronomer lawyer and mathematician, but nevermind that. His facts and writing are what matter and it's incredibly succinct. Of course, no one's told you about it because he's supposedly a "racist."

I think it is entirely possible for blacks to have the same average IQ as whites someday. But, people like you are not helping them. Get them out of their ignorant culture and infuse that culture with strong families, a focus on education, and opposition to destructive behavior. Don't tell them "black power" is good - it's not and Philosopher Sowell agrees.

While genetics can provably bring about IQ differences, those differences can be changed and made almost non-existent if you just acknowledge them and cchange certain cultural behavior..

i live in the t. dot and i can tell you that you are right to a certain degree ... the thing is this tho - toronto is very very multicultural and many people immigrate here from countries where their skill set isn't recognized or have simply not been educated ... they come to a place where $12 and hour is great pay so they aren't too concerened with that ...

also - if you live in downtown toronto like i do ... it's probably over 65% ethnic (or non-white) ... so, combine that with immigration, lack of recognized training and its not unexpected ...

the issue is if the kids of these people who grow up in our school system end up with lowering paying jobs then white kids ...

i don't think that is the case here

The Cambridge Online Journal also publish a study in its Journal of Biosocial Science supporting the view that Ashkenazi Jewish intelligence was genetically predisposed to be higher. This is not unusual information and it is generally accepted.

As far as I'm concerned, saying that Jewish IQ is racially based gives way to saying that IQs of other groups could possibly be racially based as well.
