    i am not paranoid, just pointing out that one reason someone would make a tape and send it to major media is to further taunt the victims and others, and even if that is not an intended cause of his tape, it certainly is what has happened.
    You're among that same group of people that thinks the media is trying to extort guilt out of it's viewers by submitting the troubled biography of the killer.

    People are trying to understand what the hell happened, and the media certainly takes advantage of that, but I think you're making yourself a sideshow victim of media overkill with your viewpoint.
    i am no victim of the media, and i am no victim in this situation. i just choose not to do what he wanted me to do, i dont watch his lunacy. thats all.
    This is media here, this message board. However you feel about NBC putting it out there, it was going to come out sooner or or later. The sooner the better, I think.
    i can only control my actions, so i choose not to fuel it or watch it.

    who feels taunted? i dont know anyone who felt it was taunting. just a crazy kid ranting about his nonsense. have the victim's families told you they felt taunted by his video?

    i can tell your an aspiring lawyer, you tend to have little empathy for the victims, and openly confess to being cold, and unemotional. you chose the right career path, trust me.

    someone rapes my mother, makes a tape with his insane rants blaming women, my mother, and society for his rape, then he sends it to major media so it can be boaodcast all over the world. i think i would consider that some level of taunting me, or extension of the original crime. IMO.

    You're identifying yourself with the killer whether you know it or not. You need to think more logically. There is no logical explanation for what he did. Stop trying to think that there is.

    there is always some people that try to make things more complicated than they really are.


    a psycho kills 33 people, same psycho makes a tape and sends it to major media. major media plays right into his hands and airs it. members of the population then continue to play into his hand and watch it. victims families speak out and ask that the media stop showing the pics and videos. public outcry eventually gets major media to al least slow down with showing pics and video. i choose not to watch it, and find it disgusting that they showed it. period, end of story.

    now have fun trying to twist that into me being a bad guy some how, or that i am illogical, or symptahyzing with the whacko, or that i am trying to logically explain the event? or perhaps you can be a really cold blooded asshole and ask "who cares?" (all of these have happened in the last 5 pages)

    you think. but you don't know. id not consider that a taunt. id consider it a fucked up individual trying desperately to convince the world he was right when all he's doing is showing the world he was a fucked up individual. i have sympathy for the victims, the utmost sympathy. but i hardly think this is some sort of disgusting or unexpected tragedy. it's no more appalling than releasing the kid's written assignment or 24/7 on-site grilling of the very people who tried to save the victims before anyone even knew what was going on. there is so much to be offended by about this tragedy, i fail to see how releasing footage that provides some explanation of why the killer did what he did (cos he was fucking nuts) is so abhorrent. if you don't want to see it, don't watch it.

    I don't question your idea if it was tasteful of NBC to do what it did, or how they did it, what I am questioning is what you followed that with.

    Statistics show there's always those select few that get a hard on for this type of thing. Promoting it in the news seeds the idea to make them feel "normal" as though other people are doing it and it is socially acceptable in a way, as society appears to be embracing it by wanting to read about it. Normal thought process does not apply to these individuals. We see one thing, they see something completely different.

    Yes exactly. You have to think like and accommodate for the people that commit these crimes, which is near impossible for many. This is exactly why detectives profile criminals and serial killers endlessly in order to try to understand and stop them.

    That is if anyone really wants to try to prevent or deter as much as possible this type of event from happening again...
