It is important to stress that there is much about the brain that is not understood by scientists, but it is clear at this point that processes like creativity, emotion, spatial reasoning, and logical reasoning involve regions spread across the brain.

    Researchers neuropsychologists like Roger Sperry have studied split-brain patients to better understand lateralization. Sperry has also used tachistoscopes to present visual information to one hemisphere or the other. Scientists have also studied people born without a corpus callosum to determine specialization of brain hemispheres.

    I actually say Styx at Casino-Rama a couple years ago. All I can say is holy groupies!! Unreal. The audience practically sung along with the entire concert, and the entire seating area was shaking from everyone rocking out.

    I got the tickets as a "what the heck...why not" thing....but I was quite impressed afterwards.

Whereas perceiving something spatially has to do with what is before us in the now as a whole picture. Again, according to widely practised personality study, men tend to make decisions based on logic and linear functions, and women on gestalt or "at a glance" instantaneous perceptions ("right brain", holistic), less tied to logic and cause and effect.

    It's the difference between teaching your child about science(left), and encouraging them to indulge in imagination and fantasy(right). I grant you that the left and right brain functions technically are not as cut and dried and simplified as they are often portrayed in order to clarify for lay-people but these differences are clearly generally accepted.

    But all functions utilize right and left hemispheres, depending on the requirement for data analysis. I don't think it's accurate to say left and right are dramatically different and that women or men use one side more than the other. I think a more accurate statment would be "Women are encouraged to make decisions based on the analysis of data provided by the abstract brain" "men are encouraged to do the opposite" this doesn't mean that both regions aren't being used in everyone.
