I really think this man has alot to offer when he is president. Has the leadership skills in a president we have not seen in a long time, his is a liberal(+ in my opinion), been antiwar from the start, honest (admitted drug use in is teenage years), you cant attack the man on his Christian values, seems to commited in changing health care and improving school. I'm curious to how you can dislike the man. IMO Hilary Clinton has nothing on him and should clearly make it to the oval office. well anyway post your thoughts on Senator Barack Obama

Personally, I'm very cynical about anyone who put out a book called "The Audacity of Hope". In fact, I'm sick of all the Hope rhetoric that Dems have been shelling out lately. I just want concrete ideas and results. A lot of what Obama says sounds good, but he seems to be more about sounding good than doing good.
He's definately a skilled politician. I don't think he'll win the nomination this time, but he'll be a key Dem player well into the future, I'm sure.0 -
i reeeeeeaaaaalllllllly want hilary to win. bad. she would be awesome as prez. and it would be a relief to have someone in office who is smart and articulate after Dumbya. i heart the clintons.
barack...seems like a nice guy...wonder if he'd be where he is if he wasn't black. the run for presidency is like a miss america pageant now. "well, we had a republican, now we need a black guy to win..." ya know.
oprah may think she can get the country to vote for barack because she wants him. i say hold on there oprah...she may sell books, but i dunno if she can sell the presidency.0 -

do you think lebeirman is a liberal? b/c that's what barack is....he didn't actually support any progressive candidates in their runs, instead barack put his support behind lebeirman and others who were for the war and all that...he did ads for htem, campaigned for them, talked for them...when it came to the progressives...he started a pac a year or 2 earlier and went around raising money on a publicity tour...the pac was set up to give money to the winner of the democratic senate races...so all you had to do to get the $ was be the D on the ballot...some call this barack supporting the progressives but it is nothing close to what he did for the ones at the other end of the spectrum
he may be abti-war but he supports a strike against iran and at one point he said we should stay in iraq until the insurgency was defeated...
of course he's changed it to 'we need to get out' when the polls reflect that...to me he comes off as just another in thelong line of liarsstandin above the crowd

"Good afternoon. Let me begin by saying that although this has been billed as an anti-war rally, I stand before you as someone who is not opposed to war in all circumstances.....I am not opposed to all wars. I’m opposed to dumb wars" - Barack Obama
does he get to define what a 'dumb war' is? what if i think attacking iran, which he supports, is a 'dumb war'??standin above the crowd

i think he is different than most politicians, and has charm and charisma, but all in all I feel, his stance on north korea and iran is troubling. According to him, if president, attacking both countries isnt off the table, and isnt out of the question. Thats scary!0

First of all, I don't see how he is different from any other politician.
Second of all, why the fuck would you ever, as president, sit down and say "I will not, under any circumstances, attack X Country" before a situation has even presented itself? You have to be open to every possibility.

one of the reasons i like obama is that he'll actually think about situations as they occur. he seems to realize that many issues are quite complex and deserve to be looked at from different angles, and take into consideration changes of events. for example the iraq war---he was against going into it but once everyone else got us there he actually thinks about the situation as it is actually happening and adjusts his ideas accordingly. he still was against why we were there, but he has to work with what is happening and react to that. frankly i prefer a candidate who may modify their plans a little and NOT see everything in black and white all of the time. it doesn't bother me that he won't refuse to participate in any war ever from this point forward. i don't trust someone who would say that. i think those situations are too complex and deserve more consideration of the unique circumstances at the time.if you wanna be a friend of mine

Dennis Kucinich speaks about Obama and Clinton's inconsistancies regarding what they have said and what they actually do and how they have both voted identically on the war.

I've not jumped on the bandwagon yet by a long shot. I don't know enough about him, or about most of the other candidates, to make a decision yet. I certainly haven't ruled him out though, as I have Clinton and a couple of the others."Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." ~ MLK, 19630 -

excellent post. i am not *for* obama, election day is a long ways off, so plenty of time to consider, listen, gather information, etc. so for me, this is all listening time. however, VG made some great points....things i would look for in ANY candidate. and quite frankly i think it IS important to be able to say yes i was against this but right...we're there now...what do we do? and especially in regards to the back and white comment, absolutely! most of life is livind in the grey areas...so i truly believe we need someone who can deal with that, think like that. ideals and ideas are great....but you also have to deal with the here and now, present reality....and more often than not, a lot less than ideal. so we'll see what candidate seems aligned with that down the road....Stay with me...
Let's just breathe...

Well, as a non-American, and as an individual on this planet who has to live with the decisions and consequences of America's actions, I am disturbed by the leadership vacuum that exists in the U.S.. Its frightening, and frankly, its depressing.
I read an article today by Charley Reese, who went on to say:
"In my dreams, I see the American people rising like a roaring lion and ripping the guilty politicians out of their offices, but that is only a dream".
Ya, its only a dream.0 -

you are right, i have taken the link out and left a negative comment and rating at youtube.
