This is where I have a problem. You seem excited about the possibility of having an abortion. People like you make me feel sick.
Abortion is a tough issue. For every argument you have about its need for rape, fetal abnormalities, etc. You have arguments about it being a form of birth control for drunk coeds.
I am glad its in place, but it is very sad when used for many reasons.0 -

dude, I would never be "excited" about having to have to an abortion, which is why I'm damn careful not to get preggers in the first place. I feel pretty confident that I'm safe enough that I wouldn't have to, but you never know. that's the thing, you never know. I'm just damn glad it's there if I ever need it. Abortions suck to go through. it's painful and emotional and everything else. no one WANTS to get one. I am a firm believer in taking every precaution necessary if you don't want a baby (including not having sex) and I don't think that anyone under at least 18 or 20 should have sex at all. but I don't want the government making decisions about this stuff either.0 -

Life begins at the point of conception. No one can deny that after a human being is conceived it will develop into the very same being as those debating this issue. What astounds me is that those who favor abortion went through an identical development stage as the being they are condemning to death. Would these very same people agree that a similiar choice should have been made about their own existence? Abortion today is used primarily as a birth control of convenience because people are too self-centered to take precautions. They prefer their own pleasurable self-indulgence over the care and sanctity of the life they created. What ever happened to taking responsibility for one's actions in this country? Is it too much to ask a woman who has conceived to place the child into adoption? Nine months of discomfort is nothing compared to life in prison for voluntary manslaughter! Does the father of the child have a say in this? And what about the constitution of the United States? Are not all people conceived in this country deserving of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? I believe abortion is a crime against humanity and should be outlawed. We need to overturn the Roe v. Wade decision and get back to cherishing life in this country. For a country that murders it's children cannot be far from self destruction.

Here's my view on abortion. If/When a pregnancy involves my life/living situation, I'll fucking decide what I want to do, and you can butt out."It's all happening"0

Personally, I think abortion (not including cases of rape, incest, or when a mother's life is at stake) is wrong, but I would not equate it with going out and murdering someone. What about the death penalty? Isn't that killing? I'm a Catholic, and I believe that we should cherish ALL human life, even those condemned to death.
From a biological standpoint, life processes (umbilical cord, brain, spinal cord formation) begin to happen 5-7 days after fertilization. At 6 weeks, brain activity starts. A person is declared dead when they show no brain activity. How about consider it a life when brain activity starts? At some point, I'd like to think we've moved beyond the "is it a life or not" argument.
Whatever happened to safe, rare, and legal? With issues like this, you will always have people on both sides not willing to budge. I consider myself on the pro-life side, but probably one of the very few in the safe, rare, and legal side. As it was said before, I believe the majority of women don't want to have an abortion. Its a terrible thing to go through. For me, there are other choices that would prevent this situation. But, I'm not that woman who is in that position and has to make that decision. I'll let God be the judge. I think if more of the pro-lifers spent their time education young women, teaching about the value of life, helping those who are in these situations, we'd have less abortions. That is something I think both sides want. Fewer abortions. If we outlaw them, we'll have a slew of women going to Canada or even some back alley to have an abortion. I think that's more dangerous that having them legal. Just my 4 cents.0 -

this is why you use 2-3 forms of birth control every time you have sex, cuts the risk.
besides, I think dealing with an abortion is "learning to live with your actions." If you have a kid, it shouldn't be a form of punishment. the job of baby is not to punish the person who had it. if that is how the baby is seen, the better it's not born. Would you rather a person who didn't want a baby have one and never be a good parent, or see them get punished because they made a mistake or had bad luck.
what if a married person doesn't want a kid yet accidentally gets pregnant?
you're probably one of those people that thinks everyone gets married at age 21 and every woman eventually wants to have a baby.0 -

Just saying that pleasure sometimes doesn't fit with what's "best". People aren't gonna stop having sex just cos a pro-life movement tells them it's wrong.Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.0
