never in history has fire melted steel, huh? 9/11 black helicopter tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists need to rethink that...and this was just one tanker of regular gasoline, not a huge airliner filled with jet fuel inpacting at 650 mph....

A stretch of highway near the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge collapsed Sunday after a gasoline tanker crashed and burst into flames, leaving one of the nation's busiest spans in a state of near paralysis.

The tanker carrying 8,600 gallons of gasoline ignited around 3:45 a.m. after crashing into a pylon on the interchange, which connects westbound lanes of Interstate 80 to southbound I-880, on the edge of downtown Oakland about half a mile from the Bay Bridge's toll plaza

Witnesses reported flames rising up to 200 feet into the air. Heat exceeded 2,750 degrees and caused the steel beams holding up the interchange from eastbound I-80 to eastbound Interstate 580 above to buckle and bolts holding the structure together to melt, leading to the collapse, California Department of Transportation director Will Kempton said.

    the fires at the wtc were not hot enough to weaken the steel. this has been said in the NIST report. they were hot enough to significantly weaken the steel and cause it to buckle under the extreme pressure, basically. a lot of people who don't read updated information tend to think the official story still makes the claim that the fires melted the steel. i see your point, though,...

    If you're interested. I didn't know about the cutting up and disposing of tapes into various different garbage cans.

    quality-assurance manager who destroyed tape says he did so because he thought making tape was contrary to Federal Aviation Adm policy, which calls for written statements, and because he felt that controllers were not in correct frame of mind to have properly consented to taping because of stress of the day; inspector general ascribes destruction of tape to 'poor judgment'

    So what about this 'open air fire fueld by gasoline that brought down a steel and concrete structure' in California? I thought you people claim this can't happen? Or is this just part of the conspiracy?

    yea. DUH! weakened steel and melting bolts in a 1000 foot building with 20 or 30 stories of weight above them would collapse way faster than some silly 30 foot highway bri.....oh, wait. i guess that wasn't your point at all, was it?

    I'm not sure if I read this right...is someone is actually trying relate vertical core center columns in the WTC to how a bridge is designed?!?

    Last time I drove on a bridge I don't exactly remember driving through all the huge vertical steel beams everywhere throughout the lanes. Who comes up with this shit? Better yet who jumps on that boneheads bandwagon?

    well, seems an open fire buckled steel and melted bolts in this case. i have no idea what the bolts were made of, but i highly doubt it was plastic.
