I don't think he was effected, I think he just wanted Ed to raise an insightful point. That's what's so funny, you can figuratively (not literally) see the steam pouring out of his ears...and all you hear is...uhh...yeahh....and by the time you figure out what the hell he was mysteriously alluding to, he's trying to make another point without being direct. And you ask me what I want this year

RainDog wrote:Actually, I agree with both you and Stone - I think Kerry would have been a pretty good president (still have my bumper sticker on - but that might just be because I'm lazy and have a shitty car). Hell, he was the first major party candidate that ever got my vote for POTUS. And for me, it wasn't just because Bush was in office.
And, while I'm not sure I'd consider myself "far left," I have no real love for the DLC as an organization.
I remember really hearing Kerry for the first time on Hardball the week of the first Democratic primary... I just remember being impressed that he actually answered each question clearly and directly. He actually didn't sound like a politician, and that impression stuck with me through his whole awful campaign. I kept wishing that the Kerry I saw that first night would show up again before November, but unfortunately besides a few rare glimpses, he never did.My whole life

Upset isnt the right word. Id say disappointed. I think the fact that conservatives still go to their shows, and read articles on them, and go to forums dedicated to them, despite their obvious differences says alot about those conservatives. And I honestly have no real problem with eddie's ramblings. (You know, they call him talking in concert "ramblings" on bootlegs for a reason, thats all it really is) I'm just disappointed. Thought this could have been so much more. Its not like were sitting here 24/7 steaming over ed's words. Theres a thread about it. Several. We participated. Forgive us. From now on, when you dont want any conservatives to voice their opinions, label the threads FOR LIBERALS ONLY>>>>OPPOSING VIEWS NOT WELCOME and we'll gladly oblige. Why go home

Dude, I wouldn't be disappointed. Ed is extremely articulate in writing song lyrics and I can identify with the sentiments in songs like Insignificanc even though I disagree with the specifics because he's that damn good....
But he's SOOO bad at articulating his opinions, which was quite evident for quite some time. To me, it's like reading a reactionary thread on here...I find it hilarious. Brevity and directness is a virtue...Ed is able to achieve these in song, but not in conversation. And you ask me what I want this year

i only posted it once before...and a few pages into the thread it was brought up by someone else, then someone said they didn't see it...so i posted it so they could...
how is posting a list of campaign contributions 'misinformation'? just b/c you don't agree w/ the views doesn't make it any less true, no matter how hard you wish it to be. are you saying you doubt the validity of the list?standin above the crowd

I have no problem with entertaining others opposing views I just find the level to which this has affected you to be interesting. You can talk about it all you want I have no problem with it. Secondly no one hear is preventing you from expressing you opinions and views. People may disagree with you and counter you points with their own but that's what we are here for to discuss and debate. So you can quit with this you don't want to hear our opinion bullshit because it seems to me that it is you who has a problem when someone disagrees with you."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0
