You seriously think that because I despise the American neo-cons and the Bush Administration means I qualify as an 'America hater'?
    Grow up!

you despise much more then that. anyone who knows american history and appreciates it wouldnt have found viggos comment as funny as you did.

I could spend all day singing the praises of America. There are an infinite amount of great things to be said about the country and it's people.
Unfortunately, in this present time, and under the present circumstances, America needs - more than anything else - in my opinion, to start demonstrating a great deal of humility.
Therefore, for the time being, considering all of it's many faults - mostly in relation to it's governments foriegn policy - all gloves are off.

In many cases stereotypes start from things that are based in fact. Such as the people of US being so bad at Geography or the many people who still think that Sadam Hussein was behind the 911 attacks or know more about Brittney’s mole on her butt then who the members of their local school boards are.

Which is all true. Unfortunately with more than 300 million people you get an increase in stupid people, as well as intelligent people. It's a percentages game.

And you're right, stereotypes do begin based on facts/truths pertaining to an individual. And what ever race, color, religion origin of country that individual may be; will automatically be labeled by ignorant people who think that one or two people respresent and encompass every individual of a race, color, religion origin of country.

Ignorance is ignorance no matter who's doing the labeling.

Alright listen (or read). I know that you have a lot of decent people, no doubt about it, but the amount of dumb people is huge. Just look at your government. Who voted Bush being the president? It was the majority. The people that didn't vote is probably dumber than the ones that voted Bush for the second time.

I guess you have the smartest people in the world, but never forget that you have the dumbest people as well (and they are many).

Stop the bullshit about American history... Do you know the history of the Indians (the country) or Chinas history. They are much bigger country than you. I know the American history, we are forced to learn about our war loving country.

You know what is so god damn sad? We can't vote for the president in USA. The president of your country will eventually decide how my future will be. I never voted Bush, but our soldiers are now in Afghanistan.

    Thats messed up...

You need to educate yourself before you go mindlessly repeating the "America is the root of all evil" chant.
The only people we should try to get even with...

  • Interesting little thread.

I would just like to make a comment from the greatest nation on earth to live in down here madly clinging on to the bottom of the globe. A good point was made way back there near the beginning about the roles of other governments.

Going into Iraq was a mistake and based on misleading information, and a lot of people pointed that out at the time. Yes, the main driver of this was the "genius" in the White House and so unfortunately the US's reputation has not come out smelling of roses.

However going into Iraq was given more weight by governments such as the cretins that we have just gotten rid of blindly following. We have to accept some of the blame for this and other policies as well as our not so bright populus kept voting Mr Howard back in after it was shown not only the folly of Iraq but also that they had misled the people on a number of issues.

We have finally learnt our lesson, even if it took a lot of domestic issues to swing the vote. No, I don't agree with a lot of the policies of the US government but it is no use complaining about it if our own governments are sending the message that it is ok and we are doing nothing about it.

Just a side note the main thing I know about India is that we just beat them in the cricket.
Now I'm livin' out here on the beach,
but those seagulls are still out of reach.
