Probably to so some extent. I'm not content with the way my government is. I think both parties have destroyed much of what was great about the country. There is still opportunity here for everyone I know. I do know that people who continue to settle for dumb or dumber will get the government they deserve. I can't do anything about that except continue to work with 3rd parties to try to see change.heart&desire wrote:And please, patience my dear, maybe Ed and folk will move. Well to be fair, Ed, Sean and Alec were specifically talking about Lil' Bush. If they had any intention of moving once he because pres, they'd have done it, so evidence is quite clear there - all talk. You're right about weenie, though. Weenie did specifically say McCain."I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/080 -

Thank you for this. I agree and can fully understand your point of view. I do respect this greatly. I myself am in a quandry. I do not like what the Bush Administration has brought forth and see McCain bringing more of this to the table. Last time folks tried to go for a third party answer it wound up falling into the hands of Bush. Which is a whole other discussion onto itself.
With that being said I am voting for Obama. I would rather take a risk than to carry on what has been started. Change isn't always easy and I am willing to take the risk with the hopes we may get this country back to a reputable respectable place.jeffbr wrote:Well to be fair, Ed, Sean and Alec were specifically talking about Lil' Bush. <roll of eyes & laugh> ... I don't get the name calling, that's just me. I've seen it one to many times and it never serves any good. Yeah I get pissed, though bite my tongue when on a MB, whatever, weenie, blowhard ... lalala ... lol.
People say things all the time. It is how they said it. I remember statements being more to the effect ... "makes me want to move" ... not "I am going to move" ... there is a difference. : >
And honestly, thank u for the earnest conversation.

Just to clarify, blowhard was definitey name calling, but weenie is his/her username! I couldn't refer to the person any other way."I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/080 -

The poor working class must fend for themselves while the capitalist abuses them:(:(
As for the Irish getting drunk all the time, that is certainly no longer the case. They have cracked down big time on public drunkenness and drunk driving. My friend visited Ireland for a semester and said they even have BAC checkpoints Sunday morning to make sure people aren't driving drunk after a night of drinking.

Maybe some people forget, but creationism isn't just a Christian thing. It is also a Jewish, Muslim, Hindu & budhist thing as well. Just the stories are different.
and what do all those have in common? they are religions. do you put footnotes in chemistry books when discussing the molecular makeup of water to point out that a mythical deity named jesus christ once turned these molecules magically into wine?and like that... he's gone.0 -

Please be respectful. You may not believe Him to be the Messiah, you may not believe in God at all, but considering you consider yourself an intelligent person, understand that history points to his existence, not as mythical but factual. Don't worry. Common sense will prevail this fall.
Obama will win by a landslide. Fuck polls. Q. Who the hell answers those calls anyway? A. The losers with nothing better to do. Seriously, has anyone ever stayed on the phone with those people long enough to answer the questions? When the people actually go out and vote, it will be dramatically different.
People in America are worried about paying their mortgage, rent, terrorists, cost of oil this winter, groceries, cost of oil this winter, healthcare, daycare, cost of oil this winter. We dont have time to care about anything other than today (thank you current administration). It has become a day to day society, and an election that is 60 days away had might as well be 600 days away.
At the end of the day, Obama will be president. Hakuna Matata. All that's sacred, comes from youth....dedications, naive and true.0 -

LOL. Landslide? Where was post-Biden-announcement bump? Where was the post-convention bounce? It was barely there, mostly negligible, and less than most conventions produce. Why was McCain catching (and in some polls passing) Obama in the polls leading up to the Dem convention? I can understand why you don't like looking at polls now!"I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/080 -

Flannel Shirt wrote:never have bro. When the people who are out working during the poll phone calls and the people who are having dinner with their kids during the phone calls go out and actually cast a real vote, you will see a big difference. Landslide. 75% of the vote.
I think we'll see the same difference that we saw in many of the primaries. In most of the polls Obama's actual total was a bit lower than the poll predictions. I think people talking to pollsters want to appear enlightened so they say they're voting for Obama, but when the curtain closes in the booth things change.
Who knows. But I do know that there is no indication at this point that it will be a landslide, and I do know that the Dems should have had 2 slam dunks this past decade already and managed to cock it up. I personally don't care either way because neither of the guys running will be getting my vote."I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/080 -

Who do you think he really is? Who is this "many" that say hes not what he appears to be?
some say he is Muslim, some say he is Marxist.
I have no idea who he is, but if people are coming up with negative things about him, then maybe they know something I do not.
And you know whether you like or hate the current administration, you see that we are afraid; all of us. Some of us are afraid of what we are told to be in the Republican light and some of us are afraid of more of the same, as they say of you do not like Bush.
