Agreed. Hence why this is my first post on here in ... How long?

Real life is a much better alternative to wasting time on here. Of course, that's a bit of a blanket statement. This place is indeed part of real life. Anyhow, yeah. Generally, this place is full of close-minded ideologues and I finally got sick of it. Everytime something horrible happens in the news, I get vivid images of all the people that are probably on here talking about "the new Rome" and blaming Americans, blaming white people, blaming ... Who else does everyone hate again? I forgot.

Damn straight, dude. Fight the power.

I do remember you wishing that i got cancer a few months back.
Seems ironic that you're now on here talking from some moralistic standpoint, and asking for the M.T to be shut down. It's people like you that drag the M.T into the gutter.

Actually, it went something like this. I did think you were a total asshole (based on your behavior), but I never wished you got cancer. And then over time, you and I had a few civil exchanges, and shared a few PMs, and I realized that you're just a passionate guy like myself, who happens to have some different views on Middle Eastern politics.

And please point out where I said the Train should be shut down. Hell no. If you still enjoy this sort of thing, power to ya. I do not. I was agreeing with the poster's sentiments, not so much with the notion that this place needs to be shut down. I am no gutter-dragger. You know better than that. I just got tired of this place. My life is complicated, and this place got bumped for other things that I need to pursue. And it was an easy decision to make, based on the behavior of some posters.

kinda like resisting the draw of trolls, ignoring posts/threads one dislikes...some can't seem the help themselves! it's like a carwreck that one can't pass without looking. resist people if you must!

no one is making anybody come here and post...it's a choice...basically, if a person doesn't care for it, they don't have to stick around...you can always go play the "person below me" game...

seriously, Kat just locked a thread and made mention of shutting this place down again...well, I'm gonna say it...the recent problems can be traced to a handful of posters who simply come here to troll and flame...as I mentioned earlier in this thread...just look at some of the posts in this very thread....

Exactly. As I posted in the beginning of this thread STOP FEEDING THE TROLLS!!! I just read the thread that got locked and it was ridiculous. Please people, intelligent discussion. It can't be that hard. :mad:

and thus why the behavior continues. even trolls know that, thus why they start up shite in the first place. i've said it oftentimes....messageboards are simply a microchosm of human behavior...and it's the same anywhere. i think it would make a truly interesting dissertation for apsych major, b/c it happens agan and again. history repeats...we don't learn....etc. it sounds depressing on one hand, but really, i think it's simply human nature. that whole 'hard to resist'....'can't help yourself'....etc. many may recognize it, but they still may follow along, b/c that's what most do.....or they may resist and not participate, so many still do...so the results are still the same.

anyway, just sayin'...don't 'blame' the trolls.

like most things, it's the reasonable people who let things continue, either by participating, or not doing anything to stop it. just like real life.

I take issue with the whole "troll" concept to begin with. Due to my "alternative" views by the standards of the good people on the Collective Soul board, I was ostracised, demeaned and shunned for being a "troll". And I'm a pretty polite person--however they didn't really want to hear an "alternative" view there.

Someone please tell me exactly what a troll is? People are calling people out as trolls in this thread. Who exactly are the trolls here?
