I still can't get enough of the new album. It's been on constant rotation since the day I bought it. I can't wait till these guys come back to Calgary.
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."

I'm the same way. That CD rarely leaves my player. Can't wait to see them on the 15th. Are you not making the trek North to Edmonton to check 'em out?
Brighton?
I know.... can't make it :(
Any news on any more UK dates? (crosses everything crossable)
No news yet but i can't imagine they are gonna come all this way and not play some other dates. I think some road trips may be in order, this makes me happy
so did anyone hit up the Rivoli last night? How was it?
it was great, they rocked it. The jam at the end kicked ass, they were all over the place. Small crowd, under 200 people. They should be in fine form this evening. Have fun.
I'm going to see them tonight here in Toronto.... i'll rock out on your behalf...
You rocked out, you rolled out, you did scream, and you did shout!
And thanks again for asking me to the show, I had a great time! I have beeeeeeeeeeen converted. Hee Hee! I did springawake to the sounds of Wintersleep!!!
Guitars were heavy, the sound was tight, the crowd was pretty sizable for the Phoenix, (even the band was pleasantly surprised by the crowd's size), and they put on a great show. I was very impressed.
How was the next morning? And the frozen, cold tundra...around the icy hole...waiting patiently with a pole...thank the stars for copius amounts of alki-hol, eh??
Forget your perfect offering, there is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in. - Leonard Cohen

You mean you missed Joel's 6 straight night stint at the Horseshoe Tavern in December? When that place was celebrating it's 60th birthday. An event that saw the likes of Gord D, Sarah H, Gordie J, Joel's Dad etc etc all sharing the stage with Joel Plaskett and The Emergency.
As much as I love Wintersleep...2007 was Joel's year. Incredible talent going on there!

“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.’” - Kurt Vonnegut
